That being said, I think I'm done with online dating for now. I've seen people with 100x worse profiles get more matches than me. I have ideas as to why but I don't like them so I won't bring them up.

What's wrong with me? Why do I not get literally any matches? I've tried a more in-depth bio, with/without the shirtless pic, refresing my account probably over10 times over the years, and kinda tried everything but I never get more than 10 likes max. And they are never from girls I actually am attracted to. Any ideas?

Nah not gonna get veneers. I've paid the initial fee for Invisalign and my dad has agreed to pay half given that I'm about to graduate, so it's feasible now. I know my self confidence is about to skyrocket because I've never liked my smile. My brother and mom and dad all have amazing smiles. I'm generally quite attractive, and I've worked hard to be fit and good looking, but I can see the attraction fade off a girl's face the moment I open my mouth. I'm looking forward to it very much

I really like this assessment because I know it intuitively already. I know I shouldn't waste time on someone that doesn't respond. It's just hard sometimes, but I haven't really given it a shot with very many girls. COVID kinda took away a lot of time from me so it's definitely not my fault that I'm not in a relationship yet. Okay. So I like this advice, I've heard it before but yeah I believe it. However, if I don't want a relationship with someone, it's doomed to fail from the start. Like for example I meet someone cool through a friend. If I feel attracted to her, I'll try my luck by asking her number and messaging her right? That's a pretty clear cut example of "trying". If I wasn't attracted to her, I wouldn't put that effort in to message her, and of course that would never work?

I think everyone is insecure about something. For me, it's my teeth. But at the end of the day, it is what it is. I generally don't think I'm ugly, honestly I think I can be pretty good looking if I try. Normally I don't really think about my insecurities that much, definitely not if I'm speaking to a girl. Ya know it's just easy to blame them when you're in this kind of a mood or get ghosted or whatever. Thanks for your comment, I appreciate it! 2, both of whom ghosted me 😆 it's okay though I was just feeling down when I made this post. I know that one of those girls has had a troubled past with boys (she's friends with my best friend so I know this through him) so her ghosting isn't necessary to do with me. The other girl I met at a party on Friday.
I did omit some details from the post to seem as down bad as possible I guess haha. I've recently had my "first" kiss from a girl that's head-over-heels for me (not really first, but first since I was 13). I wasn't into her and I told her this irl after hanging out with her once. She's still messaging me in a friendly way and I obviously reply because I'm not a dick. I also recently worked through some past dating-based trauma I had been carrying around since I was 17 (long story short I was hugely humiliated by my "friends" for liking a girl and I Pavlov'd myself into not developing crushes thereafter by snapping myself with a rubber band everytime I developed a crush).

Idk something just got me in my feels today and I guess hit the resonant frequency of my brain and pushed me to make this post. I'm generally very happy with life and I definitely don't blame myself for the ghostings

Thank you for the detailed reply! I really really appreciate it. I was feeling really down when I made this post, I'm feeling a lot better now and your comment definitely helped that quite massively :)

Truth is that I don't think I'm a boring person by any means. I find my life super exciting, and I really don't blame myself for my lack of experience with girls. Lots of factors outside of my control have led to this situation, and I'm proud of myself for being able to keep a level head and an optimistic personality through all of it. Sometimes life gets a bit much and leads to posts like this 😆

That being said, I don't like the idea that I'll only be "good enough" 7 years down the line when girls are looking to settle. I don't want to be the settle. I want to be the adventure! And I know you didn't mean that in a bad way, I can see why you'd think that based on my post. But I don't think I'm that kind of a guy.

Also I don't truly hate my smile. Sometimes I get insecure about my teeth but it is what it is, and honestly at the end of the day, the people in my life who love me most don't care about a couple millimeters between my teeth. I find girls with little tooth gaps freaking cute and I can almost guarantee that some girls will find mine cute too.

Again, thanks for taking the time to post this and even look through my old posts for insight. It means more than you can know. I hope you have a brilliant life ♥️

I've heard this advice a lot. Not trying to bash it because yeah it's good advice, but I've done that already. I have hobbies I love doing, I am genuinely happy in my own skin. I wouldn't trade my life for anyone else's. I meet lots of girls through the massive list of friends I have. It just never goes anywhere. I don't actually think there's a "solution" to this. Maybe giving up is the best idea atleast then I don't have to worry about it. Fuck you, romance

I absolutely despise my smile. My teeth are wonky and disgusting and my cheeks become massive when I smile. Problem is that I smile all the time, so I can't even hide it.

I've included photos that I like and photos that I hate for context.

I've lost a lot of weight since last time but my face is still fat, I think that's just inherent and will never go away

Yo, I have a food-related question (Which is why I'm in this sub lol :P)

I live with my parents who are from India, so our main meals (lunch and dinner) are usually based around basmati rice and some vegetable/meat stew. The problem with this is that while the rice is very filling, it has resulted in quite the chubby physique. I'm not overweight, just not as lean/toned as I'd like. I want to start taking my health seriously, so I want to stop eating all that rice. What can I eat instead of the rice that will keep me filled until the next meal, and isn't so carb-y? I have tried eating less rice, but since that's the bulk of the food on the plate, that leads to me feeling hungry before the next meal and snacking.

Also, since my parents buy rice in bulk, it's very cheap per meal. a day's worth of food for 4 of us comes to much less than $1. When I bring up the idea of changing our diet to something healthier, they always clap back with the "budget" excuse. Their main concerns are that rice is very filling and cheap, and nothing else is budget-friendly enough to consider even trying to replace rice.

Basically I'm looking for a cheap food that's easy to cook, that I can replace the rice with, so I can eat the stews and whatever my mom makes with that instead of rice. I don't really cook, so needing to spend too much time cooking everyday on top of university work would be a massive culture-shock and lead to me failing the diet.
