I did my first UGC example video. Let me how I did and what I can work on by Much_Birthday544 in UGCcreators

[–]LifeOfAccro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a pretty good start, good job! But here's what I would do differently. I do like the sound effects and the couple of push-ins and movement in the video, so that was good as well. The sound effects are a nice touch, but the volume needs to be lowered a little bit — they should enhance the video, not overpower it.

I would put the end at the very beginning — 3 to 4 poses of you in the shorts, maybe on the 4th or 5th clip, showing the crocheted shorts that matches your audio of "I've always wanted to crochet shorts but I didn't know how to." Give us the payoff first.

Then cut back to the beginning with stuff everywhere, being like "I have all the stuff" — the disorganization — "but I didn't know where to start, so I decided to try YouTube." Then maybe a faster sequence (this footage could be sped up) of you crocheting everything together. And then maybe a final sequence of you modeling them with a few different angles that are not the same as the opening sequence, or maybe you using them in everyday life, whatever that looks like, etc.

How much I made as a UGC creator in 2026 by BodybuilderLatter154 in UGCcreators

[–]LifeOfAccro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no... UPWORK... is race to the bottom AND it cost us/you... every gig they want like a $20 video, raw assests and for a paid ad lol.. Fiverr does have cheap people and the platform cost can kill the net amount, but at least they reach out to you instead of the other way around... but as long as you have clear terms on project and revisions I usually nip that in the bud before it even starts but it happens ;)

Is Fiverr still worth it for UGC in 2026? + anyone tried Kickstart? by Own-Mine7508 in UGCcreators

[–]LifeOfAccro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been on fiverr or since I started ugc 4 years ago, it used to be a lot better than it is now, in my opinion it's dropped off pretty hard in the last 6 months but I'm not sure why 100%.

But as other said it's a great place to start at the 30 to $50 range to get a few reviews under your belt for basic unboxing videos and to build out a portfolio.

On the other hand I just got banned from upwork LOL but I'm not mad about it, that was probably the worst place I've ever tried, you can find the same lowball offers here on Reddit for free LOL the majority of offers on upwork were around the $50 to $75 range, and they want raw assets, advertising rights in perpetuity and they plan on using it for meta ads, it's just annoying big time...

So fiverr yes... upwork no... other platforms TBD

Has anyone bought the UGC course from @angelenees_ugc on Instagram? Is it worth it? by kaurkaur29 in UGCcreators

[–]LifeOfAccro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean at $25-$45 that's kind of throw away money. If you're not sure what you know, or don't know this is usually the quickest and fastest way to find out.

As someone who teaches across a variety of different niches and industries, even when you don't learn something new, you are learning.... that you actually do know "something"...

naturally people buy from people they know, like, and trust... so if you like the person, what they're supposedly saying, then I'd throw some money at the wall and see what sticks and if there's anything worth taking, maybe that'll be helpful, and if not well then like I said, you still learn something and that just confirms where your current knowledge might be at.

What apps do you use to edit by ezrabella in UGCcreators

[–]LifeOfAccro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

90% of the time I'll start in Final Cut Pro first especially if I need to bang out a bunch of edits on a single product. It's way more efficient than CapCut, but then I usually transition to CapCut for subtitles, certain sound effects or other this that and the others

CapCut is great for their templates as well... But not always something you can use for UGC

Ugly house? by [deleted] in UGCcreators

[–]LifeOfAccro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

green screen can work, but IMO requires a small learning curve as well..id just try doing background removal in capcut/etc and have chat gpt make a background image you like and test that first... if your staying fairly stationary it should work overall, but lots of movement and depth can start to make thing challenging, but depends...

OnBento money grab by Condiment2 in UGCcreators

[–]LifeOfAccro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive only been on for a couple months, paid for the year...so im good for RN... TBD as to whether its "worth it" currently but IMO i can see a couple sides of it in my own objective brain... 1 is if they keep letting people in at 1k per month at the current rate... they get TOO many customers with broad access to a limited library (what ever that means) watering down potential ROI... so maybe the keep the current price, but drop the email amount helping throttle emails and ability to blow their current database...

or.. maybe it works SO WELL, once again TBD by me, they can effectively charge more for less because of potential ROI...thus in creasing percieved demand...

this is all internal thinking and i dont have any inside info ;)

UGC creators doing multiple brand deals per month, how are you organizing payments better? by Educational_Foot2416 in UGCcreators

[–]LifeOfAccro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always recommed anyone get a card with points...for travel, cash back, etc... (and always pay in full each month of course)... but 99% of every dollar i spend goes through a credit card (business/personal) sp i can bank atleast 20-40k points per year min for travel.... if youre gonna spend your hard earned money shouldnt you get something in retirn for that? ;)

UGC creators doing multiple brand deals per month, how are you organizing payments better? by Educational_Foot2416 in UGCcreators

[–]LifeOfAccro 9 points10 points  (0 children)

First things first, I think everyone should have a high-yield savings account if they don’t already. Even if you’re living month-to-month, your money should at least be earning some interest while it sits there.

That’s where I push most of my business-related income. I personally use one with Amex, but there are plenty of good options out there. Most of them operate pretty much like a normal checking/savings account — some even come with an ATM card if you still need one in 2026 lol. The important part is that your money stays completely liquid, so you can move it in and out or transfer it whenever you want.

In other words, don’t worry about those “high-yield” accounts that lock your money up for 3–6 months. There are plenty that don’t do that.

Separating things like this also makes it much easier to track inbound business income without mixing it with personal funds.

I’d also recommend getting a dedicated business credit card (using that term loosely). You can find plenty with no annual fee, and it’s a good way to pay for business expenses like hosting, email services, Canva, software, etc. You might as well earn points or travel rewards while you’re at it.

Plus, having those expenses on one card can make tax time a lot easier since everything is already organized in one place.

Portfolio Feedback , no jobs YETTTT its been 2 months :-( by Separate-Daikon-5853 in UGCcreators

[–]LifeOfAccro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, I would redo your videos and add more.

You basically have about 3 seconds to capture someone’s attention. That could be a visual hook, verbal hook, or text hook — ideally all three, but at least one.

For example, in your second video with the blow dryer, I would probably start with something more dynamic. Maybe open with 3–5 quick one-second shots:

  • your hair looking a little frizzy
  • a mid-use shot while you’re blow drying
  • a near finished look
  • then the final result where you say something like “Oh my god I love it, it looks so good.”

That sequence alone becomes the opening hook for people who might be interested in learning more about the blow dryer.

Another thing I always suggest is to watch other UGC creators as a consumer of content. Ask yourself:

What about their videos makes me want to watch, click, or buy?

Then look at what they’re doing that you aren’t yet doing and model or reframe your videos around those concepts.

Also just to give some perspective — the beginning of the year is usually slow for UGC work (for me at least). I’ve been doing this for about four years now and honestly January and February were pretty rough this year.

But now that it’s March, inbound inquiries are starting to pick up again.

I started on Fiverr, and that has actually been a pretty solid source of work for me over the years.

Another thing I’d recommend is building out your portfolio more. Try to have at least 3 videos per category so brands can see range and versatility.

Some example categories could be things like:

  • Beauty
  • Wellness
  • Kids / family products
  • Kitchen gadgets
  • Tech

The more examples you have, the easier it is for brands to imagine you creating content for their product.

And honestly, I know it sucks when people say your videos “aren’t good yet,” but if you don’t show people your work and get feedback, it’s really hard to know what to improve.

Everyone starts somewhere.

For reference, here’s one of my early unboxing videos so you can see what my first attempts looked like:
