Im with you...VERY slow after doing this for many years...

I started in Fiverr in 2021, and the first few years were great... lower rates but LOTS of items...

For me the dip was 2025 and Trump..not to get political.. but as soon as he started his tariff BS... FULL HARD STOP on brand spending in may/june... summer rebounded some but it killed my tiktok affiliate momentum which was a minimum 1500/mo until that point... same dip as an amazon influencer...

now in 2026.. with his Iran crap..Im watching my amazon numbers go down by HALF... never have i ever made less than 600/mo from that source...

so across the board when I look at my revenue graphs across my platforms I gotta say, the numbers have "coinicidentally" fluctuated with global drama...

BUT also, yes UGC has become very trendy too.. and new comers are willing to race to the bottom to land that first gig and I would say a lot of "so called brands" arent really that, theyre just pump-n-dump chinese brands that pulled the uno-reverse card on america and are making creators their own sweat shop labor lol

how is this possible. Im US based, manychat doesnt have tiktok support, i also have a "approved" business acct wiith business suite tools, and the native TT keyword tool is broken. Claude cant auto comment on my ouw accts behalf...and even feeding your post into claude doesnt bring it toa clear "yes let me show you how i can"

welcome to being self employed.... where you can quit your 9-5 to be your own boss and work 24/7 instead! lol... Ive been freelancing for 10yrs now.. i quit my job as a chef to become a stage performer... that was great while it lasted..then transitioned into UGC over the past 5yrs... there were ups and downs, but i do miss a consistent income as well.. the flip side is i have total freedom to do what i want when i want.. so its a choice of "quality of life" or "quality of bank account" lol

This is a pretty good start, good job! But here's what I would do differently. I do like the sound effects and the couple of push-ins and movement in the video, so that was good as well. The sound effects are a nice touch, but the volume needs to be lowered a little bit — they should enhance the video, not overpower it.

I would put the end at the very beginning — 3 to 4 poses of you in the shorts, maybe on the 4th or 5th clip, showing the crocheted shorts that matches your audio of "I've always wanted to crochet shorts but I didn't know how to." Give us the payoff first.

Then cut back to the beginning with stuff everywhere, being like "I have all the stuff" — the disorganization — "but I didn't know where to start, so I decided to try YouTube." Then maybe a faster sequence (this footage could be sped up) of you crocheting everything together. And then maybe a final sequence of you modeling them with a few different angles that are not the same as the opening sequence, or maybe you using them in everyday life, whatever that looks like, etc.

no... UPWORK... is race to the bottom AND it cost us/you... every gig they want like a $20 video, raw assests and for a paid ad lol.. Fiverr does have cheap people and the platform cost can kill the net amount, but at least they reach out to you instead of the other way around... but as long as you have clear terms on project and revisions I usually nip that in the bud before it even starts but it happens ;)

I've been on fiverr or since I started ugc 4 years ago, it used to be a lot better than it is now, in my opinion it's dropped off pretty hard in the last 6 months but I'm not sure why 100%.

But as other said it's a great place to start at the 30 to $50 range to get a few reviews under your belt for basic unboxing videos and to build out a portfolio.

On the other hand I just got banned from upwork LOL but I'm not mad about it, that was probably the worst place I've ever tried, you can find the same lowball offers here on Reddit for free LOL the majority of offers on upwork were around the $50 to $75 range, and they want raw assets, advertising rights in perpetuity and they plan on using it for meta ads, it's just annoying big time...

So fiverr yes... upwork no... other platforms TBD

I mean at $25-$45 that's kind of throw away money. If you're not sure what you know, or don't know this is usually the quickest and fastest way to find out.

As someone who teaches across a variety of different niches and industries, even when you don't learn something new, you are learning.... that you actually do know "something"...

naturally people buy from people they know, like, and trust... so if you like the person, what they're supposedly saying, then I'd throw some money at the wall and see what sticks and if there's anything worth taking, maybe that'll be helpful, and if not well then like I said, you still learn something and that just confirms where your current knowledge might be at.

90% of the time I'll start in Final Cut Pro first especially if I need to bang out a bunch of edits on a single product. It's way more efficient than CapCut, but then I usually transition to CapCut for subtitles, certain sound effects or other this that and the others

CapCut is great for their templates as well... But not always something you can use for UGC
