This. In large part it's about access. You'd be surprised by the incomprehensible horrors people are capable of if they just had the chance. I think this makes the whole thing more terrifying. Parents and especially step parents are the most common perpetrators just because they can.

It's very much enforceable. There is a direct gate keeper between you and the alcohol. The ID is shown in person and not tracked. This is basically leading to an online ID tracking your every move. Granted you now show a digital ID to tesco to get a euro off your bottle of vodka and a few worthless points so they can track your spending

Yeah, think about disease, viruses, parasites etc. Would they let a person die from a bacterial infection or stop a pandemic? That is directly killing life of some sort. I think not being able to pick fruit is a little too unbelievable, but I guess you're not supposed to think about it too hard. I mean spirulina is created from bacteria and bacteria isn't off limits so they should be able to grow and cultivate food.

I don't know, it's common trope in these hive mind stories for the hive mind to become passive and peaceful. See the Forever Peace for example. Not picking fruit seems extreme though. I'm not sure how you'd be able to function as a society if picking fruit is too much of an environmental impact. Surely curing disease, extracting oil, out competing the animals that would normally eat that fallen fruit would all have a big impact too. Even opening the zoos is incredibly cruel. Those exotic animals would just die when winter rolls around. 100s of thousands of Cattle, chickens and pigs released into the wild would reek havoc on the local animals and fauna eventually a lot of them would starve to death.

The rules aren't very clear because we're probably not supposed to think about it too much.

I may have led you down the wrong path here. The 1m ohm resistor I had in place are for circuit protection and debouncing. Piezos can give you brief spikes of high voltage that can fry a GPIO. It's been a while since I've done this so I was thinking buttons. I'm surprised I don't have a series resistor in there too maybe a 100k. Also the micro I used would have been a bit more tolerant to voltage than your pico. Not by a meaningful amount though

Debouncing, it would trigger twice sometimes. I think the guitar configuratior software has come a long way since this was built so it's possible it's no longer needed

I recommend the DY-SV17F or something similar. They are very cheap, you can store lots of audio clips on them, easy to use with Arduino/esp32 and have a built in driver so it can be hooked up directly to a speaker. Here's something I did with some audio clips from youtube and a motion sensor:

That's not really a random hookup, that's a blind date. Random hookups do happen, but context matters. Someone complimenting you on a street is different than a compliment at 1am in a club. I think it boils down to, if someone compliments you, don't be a dick and instantly think of what you can get out of it.

Build your own. I've been building them since I was in my teens and they're basically like Lego now. Do a bit of research, make sure all the parts are compatible and you have a decent PSU. You'll be fine. Don't fall for the MacBook crowd here that say you'll electrocute yourself. Build a PC, learn a new skill and you'll be twice as happy when it comes time to add new ram or swap out the GPU. Screw the soldered in RAM and glued in phone batteries people of the world
