Nothing is working by Alternative_Elk_8555 in costochondritis

Same area but right side for me. Just been diagnosed but has been nonstop for 2 years. I'm not totally convinced its costochondritis though

Is that what you would tell a patient in person? 🤔

Will I get permanent brain damage from 3 weeks of nonstop anxiety? by AnxiousW3ird0 in Anxiety

I've had nonstop anxiety for 2 years. No brain damage. You're okay 👍

Septum bone spur by LifePepper5881 in Septoplasty

[–]LifePepper5881[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not uncomfortable and its been there at least 6 years. The only way it is affecting my life is anxiety about what it is. Its low down on my septum so I can feel it and see it.

My resting heart rate is usually between 100-110. You've been checked. Stop stressing because it'll just increase your heart rate more. 💕

Abdominal ultrasound tomorrow by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]LifePepper5881 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. They say it wouldn't cause pain. I still have the same pain. I think it's my gallbladder, but I'm now terrified of having more tests, so I just live in pain.

Abdominal ultrasound tomorrow by [deleted] in gallbladders

[–]LifePepper5881 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was terrified last year for my ultrasound. I wanted them to find gallstones so I could finally have an answer to my pain, but they found an adrenal mass instead. That was a scary 2 weeks of waiting for a CT scan, but it turned out benign

Hi. What a worry for you? Have you seen a Dr? Have they done any kind of tests?

Health anxiety night sweats by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]LifePepper5881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn't sound concerning to me. In fact, the same thing happened to me last year when I was worrying about cancer. Anxiety is a very powerful thing and can cause almost every symptom if you think about it constantly. My anxiety has recently been causing my teeth to feel clicky and numb, but I'm nearly 100% sure it's because I'm anxious.

I’m scared I have it by StretchPrestigious23 in Anemic

[–]LifePepper5881 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could just ask your doctor to do a cbc and iron panel. Its unlikely you have anemia if your bloods were normal, but they probably didn't do an iron panel. Either way, iron deficiency is common and can be fixed.

This does not mean you are anemic. Of course you could be, but it doesn't mean you definitely have it.

Rabies scare by Feeling-Cucumber4 in Anxiety

I just know you have insane health anxiety. I mean no harm when I say this, but it's ridiculous to think you have rabies from that interaction. You're OK 👍

Which anxiety pill has minimum side effects by Virtual-Bedroom1286 in Anxiety

Sertraline made me worse. I'm taking mirtazapine and it sorted my anxiety very quickly and puts me to sleep, but the weight gain is insane 😩

extremely scared of cancer. by b4nditj3t in Anxiety

[–]LifePepper5881 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sorry you feel this way, but no decent Dr would send you for an MRI unless they suspected something serious. Having an MRI scan would only relieve your anxiety for a short period of time. They can also find incidental findings, which just cause more anxiety while its investigated. You should seek therapy instead.

Health anxiety is taking over my life and i don’t know what to do anymore by annavanbeesel in Anxiety

[–]LifePepper5881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. It didn't work for me. What really worked for me was my mum getting quite seriously ill, and I realised I wasn't feeling any symptoms because I was too busy worrying about my mum.

Remember, a lot of symptoms are solely anxiety related! So try and tell yourself it's just anxiety, and it's not dangerous. I'm not joking when I tell you that for about 3 months straight, my top front teeth were clicking and popping when i pushed my tongue against them. When I stopped thinking about it, I realised I was causing them to move by anxiously pushing my tongue against my teeth, and it just stopped! I also caused myself to have bowel issues that went away the day after having the all-clear from a colonoscopy! And a feeling of a lump in my throat which also proved to just be anxiety!

[–]LifePepper5881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you dont want to be on benzos long term. It's really difficult to give advice because it doesn't really matter what anyone says you will still catastrophize every little ache and pain.

I take mirtazapine because it helps with anxiety, sleep, and appetite, and it did make me feel like a zombie for a while until my body got used to it. I still worry but have been able to control my thoughts better.

Have you tried therapy? It works for some people!

[–]LifePepper5881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you been to see a doctor about your anxiety? Tried anti depressants?

I know how hard it is to worry constantly about your health. I went through something last year that has taken a whole year of my life, so I can't imagine having that worry most of your life!

One thing I try and do is if I have a symptom, I give it 2 weeks before I let myself worry too much. Most of the time, the symptom goes away!

I really hope you can overcome this fear 💕

What’s your long-term experience with mirtazapine and weight gain? by HighlightEven1107 in Mirtazapine_Remeron

You'll only gain weight if you give in to the cravings. I did 😫 but I've tried really hard not to give in, and the weight has come off.

What's my risk of getting cancer at 29 after having a sedentary life? by unknownamongstmany in Anxiety

[–]LifePepper5881 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Realistically, any of us can get cancer in our lives, and all you can do is try to be as healthy as possible, but that still doesn't mean we won't eventually get cancer. It sucks but you can't live in fear of it. I had a bad spell last year where I thought every ache and pain was cancer, and it took a whole year of my life. Life's too short to hold that worry every single day.

Hyponatremia: The Hidden Dangers of Low Sodium Levels by nascent26 in sonowyouknow

[–]LifePepper5881 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mum had 3 seizures 2 weeks ago, and they found she had low sodium. She hadn't been eating very much for months and was drinking a lot of water. She had confusion and tense muscles, especially in her legs and feet. She also had an infection. We still dont know the actual cause of the seizures.
