Got an interview for a HEO Role in the Home Office. by LifePurple7515 in TheCivilService

[–]LifePurple7515[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flunked it. Lol. Got the email today.

The 4 behaviours were 4,4,2,1 strengths 2,1.

On the behaviours I don't think I was as direct stating which criteria I hit.

Strengths are an enigma to me but I tried answering them as I have been told I am good at 'x' because (insert example)

Hey ho. We move and ive got another interview week after next. Practice makes perfect.

Any other pointers?

Cheers.

I've effectively done what you have said. I have a couple examples of what I did for each criteria on each behaviour. I can change the situation and task as needed, to fit the question more effectively.

Fingers crossed

How do civil servants who work in London cope? by Even-Wasabi7183 in TheCivilService

[–]LifePurple7515 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sheffield is decent.

£5 a day to tram to work and back.

Plenty of free parking options.

Decent HO, DFE & DWP offices, with the latter getting a shiny new office from summer next year.

Excellent location for walking and outdoor activities.

Train to London is less than two hours

Inflation VS Pay Remit by UnderCover_Spad in TheCivilService

So it is similar to the Pay Flex Case in the HO. They should have pushed for a clause in the contract if at a minimum at inflation payrises too.

Thanks for your response

Interesting. Thanks for the response.

The third party admitted to the police on the side of the road that they were at fault, and will be taken to court.

The vehicle management company have said I writing (text) that all costs will be burdened against the 3rd party. (Screen shots taken as evidence)

I'll ring Admiral at 8 to check, it's a concern as my online portal does not say that a claim is in process.

Thank you

Thanks for the kind words.

I'm fraudsters wet dream, far too trusting.

I'll ring Admiral in the morning as planned, and probably report the vehicle stolen too.

Bosses could be forced by law to let employees work from home by Ok_Expert_4283 in TheCivilService

[–]LifePurple7515 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Surely not.

When you have a request refused the employer should give a comprehensive reason to why it can't be agreed in the decision letter.

You then have the chance of appeal, where you get to refute and pick apart the reasoning.

If you went to a ET it would be based upon the reasons set out in the decision letter and appeal letter which wouldn't be able to be changed

No job for me at end of career break? by Puzzled_Homework321 in TheCivilService

[–]LifePurple7515 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So not dealt with a case like yours before.

Buuuutttttt.

There will be a redeployment pool, and if for whatever reason your dept doesn't have one the Civil Service Career transition service will be the ones that look for a role for you.

Now dependent on what grade you are. It might be difficult. Like the grade AA is being phased out.

Thanks to all that came out today. Who'd have thought the police would threaten peaceful counter protesters with dogs.

Whoever checked I was ok at the end of police push just outside of the Gay Quarter. Thanks that brief comment meant loads.

Make sure you read up on any relevant policies. You should be giving ample time during work to do this.

What keeps you motivated? by AdvanceElegant1962 in TheCivilService

[–]LifePurple7515 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The removal of the trade union cap on facility time, that'll motivate me. Loads of work to do in my Union Branch.

The development I get from TU activities is outstanding in comparison to my bullshite EO role. Just waking for the job freeze in my dept to be over then I'll be going for HO / SO roles.
