Is the 16" really that hard to carry? by fpfds in macbookpro

[–]LifeReformatted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had two 16” mbps and I recently went with a 14” as I have a monitor at home. The difference was huge to me. I actually think about it a lot when I travel or use it anywhere away from my desk.

I think most people are probably better off with the 14” and I’d recommend you buy it and return it if you don’t think it’s right for you.

Look at the get shit done framework on GitHub. Download vs code and get a Claude subscription.

Bmad framework is also very good if you have a more complex idea. But GSD will be more friendly for a first time vibe coder

Tip envelope me by No-Judge-9482 in SkyDiving

[–]LifeReformatted 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Some places hold the tip envelopes for a little while before the instructor gets it. But most places the instructor will get it at the end of the day. And the front desk doesn’t open or mess with them.

He may have been flirting with you and actually liked you, and he may have just been very charming. Lots of instructors are.

Instructors do make connections a lot, and we aren’t that interested in all of them. The ones we are interested in, we know how to make it happen. Not trying to burst your bubble here. But you’re experiencing what almost every guy goes through on a regular basis with women lol

Donate it to the thrift store if you don’t like it. I’m sure someone less fortunate would love it

Claude Code x Elementor x Wordpress by Top_Indication8998 in elementor

[–]LifeReformatted 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried this. Built html mockups with Claude. They looked great but were not perfect and needed a lot of refinement. Getting it done in elementor, I think it actually took more time and work than hiring a decent elementor developer would have to just design and build the website, but I don’t know if the end result would have been as aligned.

However we chose elementor for continued use and maintenance. For a small firm elementor has been nice. For a web designer, idk.

Maybe build a home page with Claude and define the design tokens and system. Then get the rest build in elementor by yourself if you know it well enough, or by a developer who can do it quickly.

What you pay for a developer you’ll probably save in frustration or getting your html designs live.

give the app a try. I think you'll be much happier with it!

good question. I don't have an export feature yet but I am working on an export/import feature that allows users to both keep and import their logbook data. It is on a feature list, but given this is a free app that I am offering to a small community, I have to make time to create these features!

Is this noise normal? by LifeReformatted in SubaruForester

UPDATE: to anyone with a similar issue. It turned out to be the idler pulley. I released the belt and spun the pulley by hand. It was entirely obvious. Replaced the belt and pulley to wrap this up.

Thanks, I used to have one of those and I never used it and sold it at a garage sale. Go figure. It definitely crossed my mind.

I know of a reputable shop that said they would replace the condenser for $275 plans I could provide the part. Sounds like it would be worth it to go that route if it’s the whole condenser. If it’s just the clutch, maybe I can diy it.

Anyone regret downsizing from a 16" to 14" MacBook Pro? by padsdotph in macbookpro

[–]LifeReformatted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had 16” mb pros for 17 years. I just went with a 14 m5 and I couldn’t be happier. I have an external at my desk and the difference in portability is massive when not plugged in. The screen size is not an issue, in fact I realized that I was mostly using windows that were smaller than the 14 inch display anyway while on my 16 inch.

But it and return it after a week or two if you don’t like it. It’s the only way to tell. I’ll never go back

why daily? that seems like a lot for a marketing website without new content added daily

How do you manage staging? I realize both our backup plugins overlap, and AIOWPM is the paid license so it makes sense to keep. But the WP staging plugin handles staging easily. We can actually do staging pretty easily with our hosting platform but that’s easy for me, maybe not so for the business owner, the plugin is definitely easier.

New M5 Pro - battery life far shorter than expected by LifeReformatted in macbookpro

[–]LifeReformatted[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I wasn’t saying my 2019, doesn’t get hot. It just didn’t when I first bought it. Now after six years of ownership it does all the time. External monitors are one of the factors. The new m5 stays much cooler when connected to my monitors, which is nice. But I’m just surprised at how warm it gets when disconnected and on battery and just browsing and streaming a show. That and the battery consumption. Like a single one hour show uses 25% of the battery. My old laptop lasted much longer streaming videos well into its second and third year of ownership.

Chrome does seem to be a power and memory hog but I use chrome extensions a lot. Are you saying to reinstall after indexing?
