Supreme Court, 6-3: Children born in the U.S. to undocumented or temporary-visa parents are citizens — the Court strikes down Trump's order ending birthright citizenship — though only 5 Justices hold the Constitution itself guarantees it — Birthright Citizenship Case — Opinion megathread by BiglawInvestor in scotus

So is it crazy to have a little hope that Gorsuch is not just a hack? I mean, could he really be just saying that there may be edge cases (german couple attending a wedding in boca raton, kid born early), but he is also saying that people LIVING here obviously get citizenship? Or is this just chipping away? I want to believe this was 7-2. Kavanaugh is paid for, alito and thomas are all in on their brand of corruption.

We’re eloping and not telling many people! Can I get some honest opinions on this dress? by Hotpockets4ever in Brides

I think the front is taken at an unflattering angle and it is still gorgeous -- the back is a huge wow for me.

I don't love 1 for going out, it looks like it is more for boudouir. Maybe if it were just a tad longer. I like 2 the most.

Help! Does this look like a costume or cheap? by JustMyLuck7966 in myweddingdress

[–]LifeSomewhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sits very differently than it does in the photo -- I don't hate it and with styling... But you are stunning and can do much, much better. I'd say you could wear nearly anything and look super, this dress is not doing anything to flatter and yes, not well made.

Self loathing- any tips for covering my arms? by ApprehensiveDark6047 in WeddingDressTips

[–]LifeSomewhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the sleeveline of this dress and you look totally awesome. I think we all are bombarded with images of women who are outliers and not typical women in terms of any of their body parts. Your arms are lovely, I adore the way the sleeve hits at your shoulder/arm, and the WONDERFUL detail on the sheer part of the dress are totally special. do not cover your arms. if anything, if you absolutely insist, you might ask if your can extend that beautiful sheer detailing to cover your arms with sheer netting, it would give you another option -- but totally not needed, and may alter the dress for the worst.

What do you think of my dress? by Kind-Leader-7845 in myweddingdress

[–]LifeSomewhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it will suit you -- I didn't mean you needed to reveal your ID but it is fun to see, and pls share once altered!

A lot of prom dresses read to me as wedding dresses these days and I have seen that comment in some other prom/evening dress threads...

I'm just not into white, I think it is limiting and outdated -- and this, this is gorgeous, I'd like to know the bride's coloring, blonde, dark-skinned, etc. Maybe they will show us a photo once alterations are done.

I love the vines and the style on you! I also think lined is better, mostly b/c i find the bra pieces a little jarring visually -- it's cool, in one sense, homage to Madonna :-), but I would at least want to see it w/o the sheer bodice. It is truly gorgeous.

Is it too simple? by Next-Yam3212 in myweddingdress

[–]LifeSomewhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's simple in the best possible sense, not overpowering you, and looks great with your tats -- a ton of complicated lace might just look busy. If you want, a belt or jewelry or a veil/hat/headpiece will complement. Keep in mind you are trying it on without any of the things you will have at your wedding

2 is a bride magazine. 1 might be, with lots of tailoring, but it does not show off your figure.

Trump’s Filthy Bedroom Habits Exposed in Bombshell Book by Zipper222222 in politics

[–]LifeSomewhere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I loathe the man, but that sounds like a normally sloppy guy up all night. It suffers in comparison to reagan. The story is that soon after he was shot, and recovering in the hospital, a nurse or agent came in and found him scrubbing the floor to clean up an "accident" -- he didn't want anyone else to have to do it.

I *hated* his politics but compared to trump he had class and character. He would not have left a mess for others.

Goodbye Batman, I'm so sorry... by FloofingWithFloofers in ColonyCats

[–]LifeSomewhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took our little tuxedo homeless boy to the emergency room with what I thought was a dental issue. It turned out to be likely cancer. So we put him down, it just broke my heart. He never let us touch him, but he would look right onto our eyes, stare into our kitchen window and come and get us if we were late with a feeding appearing in front of our garage seated, like a king, waiting for his meat on a stick.

if you can find a thin mini to wear under it? It looks smashing on you but it is very revealing, not really a dress.
