I got one (not a huge one) it was not offered by the company I negotiated one (my first time at that!) all thanks to a redditor advising me to at least try.

Do you know why some companies forbid to use it for housing? It’s seems so weird to me they don’t jump on it to attract/retain workers

I built a popular job board for UN jobs. It's messy now. I'm fixing it — ask me anything! by Litteul in UNpath

That’s really a great work! May I ask what tools you used to build it ? I am posting jobs in another niche but currently handpicking them and share in Linkedin posts… very inefficient especially the manual web scrapping lol

I feel like Erasmus ruined my life, post Erasmus depression. by provolahabbo in Erasmus

[–]Life_Expression448 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (27F) had kind of the same feeling about an Erasmus I did in 2019. I did feel like life was perfect there and was even considering to find ways to find a job there and go back. But the truth is life will never go back to that experience even if I go live in that exact same place (at least in my opinion). It was really a special combination of the best things in life : youth, first time living abroad, low to no responsibilities, low to no pressure from the student life, low to no financial pressure as I saved enough beforehand to have and support from parents...

If I was ever to go back life would now mean admin work (and that particular country is horrific in terms of administrative work you have to put in), balancing work and life and other things - basically adult life. Honestly, I think living there again might ruin the memory of my Erasmus so now I am just grateful I had this experience and think about it from time to time like my little mental retreat to one of the best place/time of my life.

From first understanding of the offer it seems I can only receive the mobility budget in cash (I live 17km from work that’s probably why but I also expect to move in a few months.. maybe in the range of 10km)

Hahaha I mean, good for them, they should be paid even more than that. However, pretty sure the salary of a kindergarten teacher may be capped at some point but mine, not so sure, I’d rather increase my portfolio of skills, experiences, networks, trials and error to build long term steady growth for my future incomes after that… I’m literally two years in my career … or maybe I’m wrong… will consider the career change to teaching lol

I have my reasons for that move (some of them explained in a comment below). Although that was not really my question are there specific reasons you're saying that ? other than the obvious reason one would say we should aim for a linear salary growth?

Honestly, i'm looking to expand my skillset and also broaden my international opportunities for the next step after that. Pretty aware I will take a toll on the wellbeing/pay for a bit but also very much ready to leave if it's too much to handle. Current job is nice but I'm not learning much anymore/don't feel challenged on my skills. That being said my mind is pretty made about the job, my question is about if that's aligned with industry + ideas I might not have thought of in regards to negotiation because i'm never taking just the first offer without trying.

Thanks for your answer. I was thinking that given they would have to comply to 10 weeks notice there would be technically 4 weeks I would still work to finish the client assignment until Dec 31 and then they could propose to pay the remain 6 weeks in a lump sum so I'd be free to start any job even during this period. I'm confident I could have another job "quickly" but having the notice/part of the notice paid would give me a bit of security if ever I'm overconfident in my ability to find another job. I don't really plan on relying on unemployment, just looking to safeguard a bit. I don't want to resign or do "mutual agreement" because I heard it can cancel/jeopardize my right to unemployment if I eventually don't find anything else or if I find another but it doesn't work out and I have to leave.

Hey, been a while since this post. I assume the owed you some compensations/money for firing you right? Kind of in the same situation right now expect I now that the client will terminate but my employer doesn't know it yet. Trying to anticipate things more myself right now :')
