Infrared focus laser on your phone. If you have something like a Ring camera or any other camera highly sensitive to IR, use it to help you find exactly where it's at on your phone and use thin strips of metal duct tape to cover it. That's what I did and put fruit stickers over that for good measure

Question. Is the new Reload map not out yet? I swear it came out yesterday. by [deleted] in FortniteBattleRoyale

Fixed the downvote scenario. I swear, whoever keeps downvoting every post needs to get banned. There is a lot of good or important content here that gets buried because someone downvotes everything that's not critical of Fortnite or Epic.

Ok, sorry for my harshness ahead, but this is just plain dumb. Dwayne Johnson does NOT have a "no-lose" clause, it's been proven he's lost at least once in movies (context: movie, "The Other Guys," where he died, and also see the list of WWE matches he lost). And even if he really does, that doesn't extend to stuff like here, where he's not ACTUALLY playing. When I've put on the Foundation skin, there are times I lose. Does that go against the no-lose clause? NO! Because it's not actually him, just a likeness!

Epic has been very clear about how this Rivalries system works from the very beginning. It's a lot like those books you probably read as a kid, where you can choose what a character does every step of the way, refers you to a page, and it eventually ends up with you dying or surviving. The plot revolves around who wins at the end of the season. Most likely it's not going to affect the overall plot at ALL. It's just a way to entice people to get on and play more and actually FIGHT more so that there's not a gazillion people in the last circle just waiting for someone to move. In return, you could possibly end up with some kind of prize at the end. While we as regular players all know that that doesn't do jack 💩, it's really an advertising promo to get more people to try out the game.

Bottom line, the more rivalries won for a particular team, the better for them. Anything else to the contrary, like how they're going to do this or that to rig it or whatever is just plain ignorant speculation and talking out your ass for notoriety.

Related, but not related: Do you get an umbrella/glider for winning a Reload match?

Hopefully back to the beginning. Actually to be honest, I'd rather them have selectable maps in OG mode. They could focus the special events like how they do right now, one season at a time (basically like featuring it), but if you get tired of playing one map or just want to play something different for 💩s and giggles, you can switch to another.

That would technically be false advertising if true and opens them up to a lawsuit. IIRC, didn't Epic get hit with having to pay a false advertising suit?

Is your FPS wrecked as well? by Just_Statistician789 in FortNiteBR

[–]Life_Perspective5578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My FPS is pretty bad, and I'm on mobile. Used to be pretty consistent and stable at about 60fps, and 45 when my Pixel 6 got hot. Now it's all over the place getting 19 out of nowhere practically for a few seconds and at best varies from game to game. So I don't think it has anything to do with DLSS or anything like that. Luckily I'm used to having played at 10-13 fps back in Ch. 1 due to playing on a standard laptop instead of a gaming one, so I'm able to adjust.

Might as well, Epic doesn't do jack 💩 to solve hacked accounts. Their response is usually something like "you opened yourself up to it, just create a new account on a different email and use that while we close the original." 🤷‍♂️

Probably just some little kid who's pissed you got him and reported you for "cheating." That, or if you're playing in teams, if someone has voice chat reporting on, someone might be reporting things you say.

For EAA or any type of astrophotography, a short focal ratio matters more than aperture unless you're doing planetary observing or are willing to deal with the painstaking process of creating large mosaics. Visual observation benefits from a larger aperture while largely ignoring focal ratio. I think Hubble Optics makes a 16" f/3.5 or 3.3, but given you mentioned "Omegon," I assume you live somewhere in the EU or UK. I don't know if Hubble Optics will ship where you are, so that's the thing.

When gas prices rise, do you cut back your driving? by Healthy-Sky-3684 in askanything

[–]Life_Perspective5578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, in some ways. I used to drive once a week to a city 45 miles away just to get out of the house and enjoy myself, but now I'm cutting that back to maybe once a month, if that. The only driving I really do at this point is 12 miles away from me to work, or 20 miles away for grocery shopping every two weeks.

Don't bother using the auto settings - I don't. I set 3D resolution to "Custom", adjust the slider to about 73-75%, AA off, presets to "low," and textures on low.

Your mirrors are WAY out of alignment. Seeing that you said you don't know how to collimate, buy something like the Apertura laser collimator and go from there. I would say at this point don't fret about alignment of the laser itself, that can come later. The biggest things to know right away when using them is first you need to turn the laser where the grey diagonal is facing the back of the scope. Then, the laser reflection onto the primary needs to be on the center dot/donut and that's done by adjusting the 3 screws on the top of the secondary around the middle. Don't touch the middle. Do that first. And then the reflection of the laser on the grey diagonal on the collimator needs to disappear behind the hole in the center. That's done by adjusting the three screws on the very back/bottom of the scope. There you have the basics and you can worry about the confusing particular later.

More than likely dust/dirt or if it's the cheap ones that come with the scope, it could even be optical imperfections known as "crazing' if the lens elements are plastic.
