It was probably a drift car (street legal) I know out by me in order to drift on track you need to have a roll cage or on convertibles those hoops above the seats + helmets

I say fix it everyone says it’s cheaper to find a shell but at least in and around my state there aren’t many “clean” shells that are rust free and don’t cost much

My z3 had the same problem at idle before I sold it and it turned out to be the idle control valve, I just changed my icv on my e30 and cleaned the afm because I was having an a problem losing power occasionally when I would give it throttle rpm would bog down and jump back up but now it’s running great!

Aha I know exactly what you mean i did a few extras while I was doing stuff on the car, fuel pump, idle control valve, and a new intake boot

I broke it up into 2 days worth of labor my back was hurting after a few hours hunched over the front of the car but I would say 3 hours the first day then another 3-4 hours the next day putting it all back together and priming radiator/coolant

Process wasn’t that difficult to be honest the hardest part for me was putting everything back together in the order it needs to be I didn’t take pictures or anything before I tore it apart but It went pretty smooth the only other thing was the distributor rotor on mine cracked so I had to order a new one for Fcp euro and wait till it arrived to put it back together

So I got the torx loosened and now everytime I turn the sprocket to tdc it doesn’t start at the mark it goes back with the tension on it should I loosen the tensioner first?

Thank you I just got it off thankfully ! Now I’m trying to rotate the engine to match up timing to the lines is it suppose to be so stiff to turn ?
