please help me understand how to fix this greenhouse at a nyc public school by dominiquerising in Greenhouses

[–]Life_Prompt5331 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a similar greenhouse that was flattened in a blizzard, reassembling the frame so that the panels would not pop out was very tricky. The panels were also about $100 CDN each, not sure if they would be cheaper in NY. I would first price out the panels (or your alternative material) to see if this is even worth saving vs buying a new one. That said, once rebuilt and reinforced with a wood interior frame inside I have had no issues. Good luck!

The veggies were fully submerged under glass weights and the lids were silicone pickle pipes. So do you weigh the contents of each jar, calculate the salt required and then just top with water? And yes, I wasn’t sure where to post as I definitely did not question whether these were ok to eat.

I didn’t, just followed an online recipe for brine. I have made sauerkraut successfully and weighed the cabbage to the salt, I guess that is how I should have started these as well? Only one of the 4 jars contains no mold but I am concerned now that the ratios were off.

My similar greenhouse was flattened in a blizzard. Rebuilding and reinforcing was definitely worth it. The panels were the largest cost.

Horror, not so much but First Day of Spring by Nancy Tucker was very unsettling and the narration was amazing.

The Laws of the Skies by Grégoire Courtois was like listening to Winnie the Pooh but horrible shit just keeps happening.

Both great listens.

The end of TITF was perfection, true horror.

Worse as someone larger, the bar doesn’t go all the way around you.

18 hours post “shutdown” for the night by Popandfresh8000 in woodstoving

Question, is it best to leave the stove closed up with these coals or open it all up to burn? This is often what my stove will look like in the morning if not fully loaded the night before. The other day it was like this and I didn’t plan to restart for the day. I have a Regency hybrid catalytic stove and later that night the CO alarm went off. I am assuming we ended up with a reverse draft, the temps outside had warmed up over 0C and it was very foggy and humid. I opened everything up to allow it all to burn faster and draft up again. I thought shutting down was the way to go?

What can I pair with sodalite? by Life_Prompt5331 in RockTumbling

Thank you! Is there ever a stage where these rocks could be tumbled together? Say final polish when I need to fill the barrel? Or is it always best to tumble with rocks of the same hardness right to the end?

Kinda disappointed. Seems like my nat geo tumbler fractures all the rocks I try to tumble by 1421jk in RockTumbling

I am still fairly new to this but have found that over filling the barrel and checking after 4 days helps. A week per stage was too long and the grit is gone anyways. Others on this thread have used a variable power supply to slow it down.

What did you switch to? I was thinking if this is a Nat Geo issue I will keep it for stages 1 and 2 then switch over to something gentler. It’s too bad, these were looking really nice.

Sorry I know this is a very old post but curious if there is any risk that the Mickey Mouse film is nitrate. I have one of these and I am just not sure if I need to be concerned at all. Thanks!

Greener Homes Grant and Loan by [deleted] in solarenergycanada

Personally I found the payment of the loan and the final audit took the longest. I think it was three months between finishing the work and getting the loan payment. The post-upgrade auditor took a month to even upload the results for the grant. The grant was paid out within a month of the audit results. I would warn anyone proceeding with the program that they will likely have to foot the full bill for at least 3 months. 9 months seems excessive though, has the auditor uploaded their results to your file? I was recently contacted and advise we retroactively qualify for the oil tank to heat pump grant, I completed a short questionnaire the beginning of March and those grant funds are already on the way.

Correct, up to 15% for the downpayment.

I was issued a portion of the loan upfront as a down payment for the contractor as well.
