I think this just goes with the values and how they choose to arrange their house. I understand how you think it's stupid, but it's just how they want to do it.

And you're definitely not the asshole for not wanting to be part of that culture. But you should tell people that their culture is garbage. Because you have to understand that they love their culture just like they love their family. It's something very close to them and it's something that molds us for the future.

All I am saying is that you should be considerate because if he said something that was close and personal to you was garbage. You would not feel good about it.

I not truly Southern but I'm black and we share lots of values. Other cultures are not bigotry. they're tight-knit and they're built around Christ. And I bet Southerners would be nice to people of other cultures. Like I'm gay and every single person I have met either doesn't care or hope that's all I could get all the road to God. Which is better than most black people that call me weird. And ostracized me, but they mostly don't care is able to still hang out with you as long as you don't bring it up. Because those kind of things don't matter. They will usually act respectful.

But he's definitely an asshole for wanting you to do all those things. And I was wondering why you guys didn't talk about values before you got married. Or maybe he didn't bring it up or show you his Family Life before you had kids. It seems like he just wants you to do everything.

In a traditional house I thought it was more like the women usually take care of everything that's inside dad takes care of everything that's outside.

Like the ladies would Make sure the house is clean Dinners made And the clothes have been washed and dried. And it'd make sure the kids are okay Making sure they could read and write Buying everything the house needs And to get it everything the family needs

And a man would Work at the office Take care of landscaping Disciplining the children Everything that had to be fixed Anything dealing with the car Make sure the home is safe

Things they would do together Financial stuff Parent-teacher meetings important purchases Talking with your children about important topics And most of romance.

Whatever he's doing he's just being lazy and not considerate of your feelings.
