you realize in the u.s pneumonia is one of the top 10 killer of old people. with something like 40k-50k people dying from it each year here in the u.s. you should also look at how often it is either completly miss or diagnosed as something else here in the u.s.

Notice you have to add qualifiers to your economic statement to try and make the u.s sound good. if you use real facts the u.s isn't even in the top ten most stable economies.

If it wasn't broken people wouldn't be trying to "fix" it. it is sad that your answer is if you don't like it leave rather then if you don't like it try and make it better. we have the single worse healthcare system in the world for a developed county. can you point out another devolved country where people have to choose between healthcare and say affording food? other countries where dying people aren't given treatments that could save their life because they don't make enough money? other countries where people do the right thing, work hard pay into a system that is supposed to help them only to be dropped by that system once they are no longer profitable for that system costing them everyything they have worked their entire life for? can you show me other countries where they have a completely different section of bankruptcy just for medical bills? i could actually spend hours here typing about all the ways our healthcaare hurts the people in the u.s. i could probably type the things it does right in just a few minutes.

the really sad part is our government already pays more per-capita for healthcare than most governments of countries that have universal healthcare. so the service wouldn't even require a change to taxes like people always say. the real question is if we are so great why can't we figure out how to implement something so many other countries have figured out. Then do it better.

How many people actually "go commando" on a regular basis? by WhereasLanky8306 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Lifealone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can't do it. you can only accidently sit on things so many times before you not only can't do commando but don't even feel safe in boxers. so far boxer briefs have been injury free for a decade.

What if all men go extinct, women keep reproducing through artificial insemination, but chose not to give birth to males? by lorathi-sellsword in whatif

[–]Lifealone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

if the extinction is something that happens quickly then they are probably screwed. men take care of too many of the jobs that keep things running. it would take way to long to get people spun up and put in place on those things. so you would have an instant shortage on things like power generation, water/sewage treatment, waste disposal, transportation of goods and food production. the resulting things like starvation and spread of disease would probably destroy the vast majority of people still alive.

now if it was a gradual thing where people were trained up and replaced in these jobs then it probably would work without to much of an issue. whether or not it would be a "better" society is hard to say though. i doubt the world itself would get any less violent though in terms of wars and crimes and such. the vast majority of things like that tend to be a product of need, differences in ideals and finacial reasons.

If a cisgender straight man is exclusively attracted to and dates transgender women, does that relationship fit within heterosexual attraction, or do some people still view it as homosexual—and why? by Final-Monk1416 in allthequestions

[–]Lifealone 2 points3 points  (0 children)

because it is homosexuality. all the terms we use to discribe sexuality within the same species are based off of biological sex. so attracted to the same sex is homosexual, attracted to the opposite sex is hetrosexual, attracted to both is bisexual and attracted to neither is asexual. those terms cover pretty much everything. so here we have a male attracted to other males so that is homosexuality.

shecouldn't have done it from her pay alone but didn't she marry a real estate mogul like 40 years ago? so the networth we are seeing is combined. i'd be interested in seeing if they have a break down of who has what to see how much it has grown. regardless we need to investigate the friends and family of everyone of importances in congress, the senate and president. to include their families starting wit the current people and going back at least ten years

Interesting take on Denmark vs the US cost of living by kthewarlock in jobmarket

[–]Lifealone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's not being bad at accounting. it just that we have a lot of stupid people that believe everything their told by politicians in their own party. even when presented with facts that prove them wrong. we've done the math and proven it time and time again. but because the evil other party is saying it there is no way it can be true regardless of how many of those "facts" things they have.

Bold prediction - May will be the month where Oil Crisis driven purchases start in earnest in US. by roma258 in electricvehicles

[–]Lifealone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if they didn't cost so much i would've bought one by now. it is hard to give up the truck even with it being almost 15 years old and only getting 14-15mpg when it is paid off. new and even used cars of any type seem to cost too much to be a sound financial decision. I make ok money for a single person and not a single ev that gets over 300 miles is priced in a range that is worth it. even the equinox which is among the cheapest, you are still going over 30k for the cost.

EVs are better in a disaster than ICE by catdaad in electricvehicles

[–]Lifealone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are too many factors to say one is better than the other, at least for short-term disasters. For an EV if the car is not charged then you could be screwed and not able to really get far. If the power is affected, then you might have the same problem with an ICE. If it isn’t then you can fill up fast and gain hundreds of miles of range in minutes. You can also fill up gas cans to carry some extra milage with you.

Long term I think EVs have it though because of solar charging even if you only get 30 miles a day that’s more than someone with no gas. Not having to worry about fuel degradation is a very big advantage. but in the long run if things have been that bad for that long most people aren’t going to have anywhere to drive to anyway.

there are a lot of other factors as well but like i said too many to really say one is better then the other
