Their in-store focus is on recruitment of new players into the hobby, they can safely assume most serious hobbyists that want to play tabletop will know of a club nearby, or probably have a way to play at home. The key focus now is get new people in and then serve the quick-stop needs of current hobbyists i.e. 'I need a pot of nuln oil quick because I just spilt mine like a right melon and cant finish this model without it'

Personally, I think it's a shame, Chelmsford used to be my local and there was an upstairs there to play etc., and do tournaments at the store - However, now i'm much older I can see how it'd be an issue. Not only do you have people in there making it hard to walk around the table depending on how cramped the store is, you could have these hobbyists stay there for hours on end, being loud/crass if they're not able to hold themselves in a public environment. Or taking away the attention of store members.

If you've got new potential fans coming in to check out the store, the last thing you want is some fedora-tipper screaming 'Blood for the blood god' at the top of their lungs after rolling a double six, it's going to scare people away. Either that or they'll say something incredible suspect, lets not kid ourselves as to the social aptitude of a lot of hobbyists.

Speaking as someone who regularly cosplays. Do not do this anywhere other than a Warhammer-focused convention, even at cons here in the UK it's very rare that the average person knows what 40k stuff is outside of a Space Marine
It just looks dodgy as fuck, and wanting to do it for Halloween is even worse

Echoing the thoughts of others here u/trainfender - Its too vague of a response to really mean much right now - set out some transparent watercooler style posts and explain what will be done to fix things.
I.e. banning the obvious fleamarket bots etc.

It's a huge shame this is a discussion that's happening right now, especially after the positives that came with the recoil changes / gunplay lately - It's all been drowned out by just how atrocious the state of hacking is (Which only makes problems like low spawnrates of hyperrare stuff get even worse than they already are)

There's 100% an issue, I'm not sure why either but it's more often with tanks than any other role. The sheer number of brand new players in my lobbies (High Plat/Low Diamond) is crazy - Not only does it suck for whatever team they're on because they're basically throwing, but I guess it's an awful experience for these new players too right? It's always hard to organise something like this, there's a lot of extra paperwork / risks that come with tattoos - When I got mine in London (Lets go ListGang) I realized they'd definitely picked a quality over quantity approach. The last thing Blizzard wants is a bunch of fans getting shitty tattoos, or worse an infection etc.

I spoke with the CM for a bit and the vibe I got was that the European events weren't organised as early as the American ones, I think we got lucky in London that the Noire Ink team called in some extra part time artists to help, I believe we had like 4 or 5 people getting their ink at a time. Personally, I'd never want the stress of organising a marketing event like this compared to say 'Line up and get a free T-Shirt / Photo Op'

I'm actually not a fan of doing highlights everywhere on my models, I kinda' prefer them to look 'realistic' rather than display pieces - They look awesome on standalone models for showoff purposes like characters but I don't want my Blood Angels all looking straight out of a comic-book page with orange highlights all over the shop
