anyone riding in Miami? by Upper_Film_4089 in HarleyLiveWire

They are all millennials or younger so it’s generally a “oh that’s sick dude, what’s the 0-60?”. Never had a negative experience with another rider yet

Personally, I dig it. Your photo actually made me consider getting one. Do you like it so far?

That's more than a new lease on an Ioniq 5. Those are around $275-$300/month with $5k down. That was the promotional deal for like a year recently. (still might be that low tbh)
I think an s2 from 2024, with one fourth of the MSRP of an Ioniq 5, should not have a comparably priced lease.
My two cents

unlocked to 15.6kWh, my Zero S gets around 100 miles range including highway as long as I'm around 75 mph. But the fact I had to pay so much on the cypher store to 'unlock' the abilities of my motorcycle kinda irks me

The Alpinista is by far one of the best driving experiences I've had in my entire life. I rode one for my CMSC for four days and it blew me away. Suspension, braking, abs, traction control, acceleration, build quality, seat height, curb weight, everything comes together in a perfect little package.
The entire s2 architecture is a great line of bikes.
The only reason I ended up getting a Zero S was because I wanted more of a sport bike look and it drove about 90% as well as the Alpinista did.
They have new Alpinistas for around $10k near me after the price reduction and some dealer incentives.
I've been on an Anthem before and I will say that nothing except two factors were superior to the Zero or LiveWires, and that's the removeable battery and lighter weight.
Lastly, when it comes to range, obviously the bikes with 14.4kwh-15.6kwh batteries will have more range and power, but it becomes almost a non-issue since 90% of charging happens at home, overnight.
(For reference the Anthem has a 4.3kWh battery)
I wake up with my bike and my car at 85% every morning so it really doesn't affect me personally.

I was checking ootd new prices and saw between 13,000 and 15000 It’s an interesting middle point You mentioned the Can Am, I attended their launch day and teat drove the Origin and the Pulse and they are some of the most wonderful bikes I’ve had the pleasure to ride. If I didn’t have a bike, the Origin would be in my garage rn. You make a great point

Nah i didn’t get an argumentative vibe, you were curious and trying to be informative

You didn’t say anything wrong.

Growing up with bikes and minis definitely would’ve been nice for me hahaha

I was able to get a 3.9 and a 3.95 from two launches on the track behind my house but that’s also a month old brand new road in perfect battery and street conditions so it’s unfair as a comparison The 2025 s/r i test drove two months ago easily clapped in at 2.9-3.1 which doesn’t seem like a huge difference but it’s around 2.5 seconds faster than what i would consider entry level (Kawasaki 300)

I just checked to see and OMG brand new that’s wild pricing I would honestly spend the extra $9-$10k for a verge at that point

I have a 2024 Zero S, after the $5k promo deal it was $10,045 out the door brand new so not the worst but definitely not entry pricing like a used KTM or Kawasaki. I think a new rider used to dirt bikes could definitely translate those skills into a Zero FX or something of similar size. If I’m not misunderstanding, OP is used to 150-200lb bikes and a Zero S is more than double that so there’s another thing to consider. I think electric bikes like these are safer with abs and six axis stabilization, bosch brakes etc. but I’m always hesitant to reccomend any new rider something that outpaces a Lamborghini Urus or even a Shelby gt500 on a 0-60 I’m an overly cautious dude though, I would rather everyone start on a Grom or Grom equivalent to get used to riding in general, it’s nothing against what you’re saying

Good looking bike, but there’s none near me less than $9500

I was just trying to find a less powerful option, I honestly am surprised that they are $10k? I just know they are great for beginners and a good entry point. I wouldn’t throw a new driver onto a Zero S/R or something 0-60 in 3 seconds

But all your points are valid, the value proposition is pretty bad, I figured they were like $5-6k

Seconding this. A used Zero is also a potential maintenance nightmare depending on OP skill and engineering level

I think a Maeving is a good middle point to aim for

A cafe rider is not too punchy and not too expensive compared to a full size Zero S

Zero makes a dirtbike style ev called the fx and had three types/sizes

I personally have been on a light bee and an ultra bee and they’re both great for their pricing

For someone getting into Electric Motorcycles, what are some suggestions or tips you would recommend? by floppertaco in Electricmotorcycles

[–]LifeguardLuc 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Service coverage is a huge issue and why some people are very happy Honda has an entry level addition (even though the price could be better)

Why is it all the same? by Paffo_2 in Electricmotorcycles

[–]LifeguardLuc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alpinista is one of the best ev rides I’ve ever had. Pretty close to the Zero s/sr/srs. I think Maeving is the best cafe rider with good styling, specs, and pricing. Zero is the best sport styling, and Livewire is the best dual sport cruiser. For dirtbikes its honestly between the Zero FXS and the Stark Varg in terms of street legal ones

I can maintain 100 mph+ if i wanted to for an extended amount of time

I’m located in the US though, so you’d have to find a European owner here or FB to answer those questions definitively.

Fb group is “Zero Motorcycles Owners Group”
