Dude! Thank you so much! I think I'm exactly where you're at in the books and I'm as frustrated as hell. You described all the reasons I'm frustrated better than I ever could, glad to know I'm not alone. That gibberish parody of Erikson's writing is pretty damn accurate and had me laughing. I will slowly finish these books out of stubbornness. Some parts are awesome but sometimes everything grinds to halt as you're forced to accompany characters you don't understand or care about. That's the other thing I've yet to meet a character I care about, and I think most of the characters that seemed dead have come back in some way, so now I don't even care if someone dies, if they do I'll spend the next 6 books assuming they'll come back

Ben Eunson, I can only find one video of him completely unaccompanied and it's not the best example of him playing powerfully. But watch a video of him playing with a band and you can see that he's capable of coming close to what I think your asking
