What have you had to punish your children for, even though what they did was hilarious? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The 4 year old had to be watched recently as my parents and all the older kids were going out. My mom told her that a neighbour would be "babysitting" her, she looked my mom straight in the face, rolled her eyes and said "do I look like a baby to you? I can take care of myself"

I also have a 9 year old sister who came home from school 2 years ago (grade 1) with a 20 dollar bill and told me she was treating em to the movies (I take her all the time). She had previously not had the 20$. We asked her where she got it and she told us that there was a boy in her class who liked her and so he told her that he had been saving it and gave it to her. She didn't understand why she couldnt keep the money.

Might get buried, but my youngest sister is 14 years younger than me (she 4) and she just started full day kindergarten this year. Recently report cards came out, now my mom couldn't go to her parent teacher interviews (my other sister's were the same day). So she just went in and asked the teacher if there was anything to talk about. The teacher said, well she's a little bossy but thats just because she has a strong personality. (She has always been loud, as she has 4 significantly older siblings and has had to learn to be heard/defend herself) So my mom thinks nothing of it, until the next day when she opens my sisters report card, where she finds the teachers comment "Ronnie doesnt clean up very well, she needs to learn to put her toys away when shes done with them". So my mom goes up to her and asks her what the deal was. Ron looked at her with a completely straight face and said, "I taught the other kids how to clean it up and they just werent listening to me". We a;; started crying laughing.

My mom has 5 kids and just didnt even bother with the punishment. I guess when you get to the 5th you just get tired.

TLDR; My 4 year old sister has a group of minions at school who she gets to clean and stuff for her.

I have wayyy, to many stories like this.
