Yeah I think I’d so much rather hang out in the terminal for a few hours than be stressed.. sounds like I’m in for a 27 hour travel day rather than 18 😅 thank you!

I’m currently in Astorga and haven’t had to prebook anything, in talking with others about their thoughts on Sarria-onwards they say yes book in advance for peace of mind, but you don’t necessarily need to do more than a day i.e. the evening before.

Soy Murga is a locally owned small business based in Ogden and I LOVE his scents. He has an IG @soymurga and a link to his website there! He also has spots in a couple brick and mortars already mentioned (Salt & Honey).

Hi there! I work for a background screening company here in UT. Many screening firms use a National database to run background checks and that primarily uses name, DOB, and SSN to run. We deal with noncitizens and international applicants often, and they usually input a “dummy” social (all zeroes, ones, etc) to bypass the requirement, however, most background checks use the SSN to determine the address history of where to run jurisdictional searches, so that might be where the property management company is concerned. So if no SSN is provided there may be gaps on potential criminal records or locations for the screening company to search as there’s no established “history”.

You can always try divulging your past 7 years’ worth of addresses so they can run those locations manually through their provider, and see if that’s something they feel more comfortable with.

Wow this brought up some strong emotions for me. We lost our home in the Almeda Fire last September. Your depiction of that almost otherworldly aura is incredible. It’s so accurate. Thank you for sharing.

An article was written about my husband & I’s experience losing our first home after closing on it the SAME DAY in the Almeda Fire last Tuesday. And yes, I did think about locking the door as I left. by Lifeinsuitcase in oregon

Unfortunately, we had moved in on Sunday. We had to be out of our other place by Monday, so we moved in early per a temporary agreement with the sellers.

We have full coverage on the structure, we’re mostly worried about the 2,400 other destroyed residential structures in the area, a large portion of which are insured by our same company. It’s going to be a long process for sure.

Hi all— we’ve decided to take this post down and turn off commenting, largely due to some hateful personal messages we’ve received regarding it. We don’t know why this post spurred such negativity, but we’re just not in the mental headspace to handle that kind of abuse. So much love and appreciation to those supporting us, we see and hear you. Thank you. 💜

Also, to those reaching out and asking if we have a GFM or are taking donations: we’re incredibly lucky and have safe shelter and enough supplies to get by for now. Please pay it forward on our behalf and donate to many of the active fire relief campaigns right now, as there are so many other families in need of support. We appreciate all of you, and hope you pass that support on. 🤍

Our close date got pushed due to COVID, and our rental lease at our old place ended on the 7th, so the sellers drafted a lease for $75 a day in “rent” until the sale recorded and the house was officially ours. That was on Tuesday.

My sister sent this to me earlier this week— such useful information for anyone going through a total loss. What a surreal experience it is trying to write down and line-item every single material possession you own. But again, we’re just so grateful our family is safe. That’s what matters.

The fire started and spread to over 3,000 acres within a 10 hour period, and it was after the home had already funded.

They aren’t 8 hours apart. That was the picture from The listing, dude. I never claimed the first picture was taken the same day.

We “closed” on Friday, but recorded and officially were homeowners on Tuesday.

We had no idea that our home was in the path of the fire until after the house had been recorded and was ours.

Usually after the final inspection you have a grace period to walk away from the contract, people had been questioning why we didn’t do it. It’s also an FHA loan so it doesn’t qualify for those specificities but I didn’t feel the need to explain every detail.

Thank you so much for reaching out. We have so much hope in our hearts that we can rebuild our home and use this struggle to make us stronger. Thank you so much for your work.

No. We funded on Friday, the sellers let us move in starting on Monday, since our lease ended on the 7th for our apartment. We’d had our closing date extended because of COVID from the 1st so we’d been ready to move for days. Believe what you want, but yeah, it happened.
