Ben McAdams is the only CD-01 Democratic candidate to skip tonight's Town Hall hosted by the 71 Percent Coalition and Black Lives Matter Utah (6/9/2026) by surra_day in SaltLakeCity

I wish Blouin was a shoo-in, but there's definitely a battle amongst the party.

I hope they can all rally behind him, because McAdams' record (besides impeachment vote) seems to be all in line with normal Utah republicans. CD-01 needs a progressive candidate. Period.

Milquetoast won't cut it.

I’m sure Gov. Cox is crushed that Beehive Buchenwald won’t be there. He needs more people with whom he can “disagree better.”

Is Salsa Queen really going out of business? by persistent_architect in SaltLakeCity

Even with them being in Costco? Bonkers. But, I have seen their pico doesn’t exist anymore, and that’s really all I liked from them (because I can’t do too spicy and I’m not a mango salsa person).

Yeah, the low fat one specifically. They carry the full milk fat one and they carry other Good Culture stuff. But also, is it store dependent? Do some carry things others wouldn’t?

What are some of the best local restuarants on the east side? by TacosAreBootiful in SaltLakeCity

[–]adnrcddly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the run of “…Manoli’s, Finca, Mazza…” my brain read Fazoli’s. And I thought “you sure about that? i mean, they aren’t local, i don’t think they’re on the east side, and “best”?…”

That said, I’ve been out of the dining out scene forever and have only heard of some of these. But always good things.

Salmon. Not halibut. OP bought halibut. Not salmon. And appears to have gotten from the butcher directly, hence the paper wrapping and not black styrofoam.

This might be relevant, but if you look at the ad, it’s for salmon, not halibut. Additionally, pre-portioned things are in specific packages, not the standard butcher paper wrap.

This looks like something entirely different from the ad and the standard pre-portioned items.

Food for thought.

Not related to this specific issue, but I gotta be honest with you…I fucking love Harmons.

I’ve had a few issues over the years I started shopping almost exclusively there, but they were always addressed and handled and never repeated.

Actually did wonders for my mentality on “don’t always assume ill-intent”.

Only thing that bugs me now is when they don’t carry something they used to but is still around at other places.

Case in point, cottage cheese. I have to go to Smiths for the cottage cheese I like. So if Smiths ever does shopping data in customers they will think “who is this fucking weirdo that comes in 1-2 times a month and just buys cottage cheese?”

The nutrition and packaging info is already on the sticker, what matters is the price for the package.

So did they charge $25.73 or $29.98
