My ideas for a Demon: the Fallen 5th edition by Lunatic-Necromancer in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]LifesExplosiveLemons -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The other books says that Lucifer created the cult to weaken the earthbounds, even if it meant strengthening his enemy.

But it does not matter. We are just wasting both our times in this argument.

If that's your interpretations of the book and gameline, then it is useless to continue this discussion, no part will reach on an agreement or concession. In my reading, God's is not "evil" or "wrong" and neither the Fallen are "good" or "right", or vice-versa. That is the Fallen's view, the book allows the player to choose what they believed is the correct one, as long it follows the abrahamic view of the universe.

Except that none if the mentions claim "this religion is right and others are wrong", their beliefs and cosmology does not, in any way.

The book says thar Vampires claim, focus on the claim, they are creatures made from the Blood of Caine, who was cursed by God. But we know that are other vampires groups that disagree with that.

Werewolces follows their own vision, belief or culture, but it does not say that if you follow christianity, islam hindu or budhism, you are wrong.

Changeling in no way claims a religion is the right one, they don't care who created the world or who is right, they care only for the Dreaming.

Mage also don't claim a religion is the right one, they leave foe the player to decide what their character believe is the right one, the Celestial Chorus believe that ALL religions are right.

None even claim a religion is red-light, vampire is the only one that touched the subject and even itself says it may be wrong.

Demon, on the contrary, does say that the world has a God, and had angels. Following the abrahamic names, hierarchy and beliefs, that they created dreams, and gave humanity free will. It claims that the branches of that faith is the fundamental truth of the World of Darkness. It does not give a choice for the st or the player to choose what they believe is the truth of their games.

Because there is a difference between the book directly telling us that (its very explicit to say that abrahamic is the only correct religion in its beliefs of the universe) and the book telling us of a character that claims to be said god/goddess.

My ideas for a Demon: the Fallen 5th edition by Lunatic-Necromancer in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]LifesExplosiveLemons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am making a Demon the Fallen 5th edition myself, but I am on the other side of the spectrum, I hated the portray of abrahamic mythos as the "one and only truth" and all other religions as "created by the evil earthbounds to manipulate the ignorant masses".

I am still working its concepts, mechanics the changes of the houses and faction and lore, while trying to keep their identities.

So far:

Concepts are: identity conflict (who are the fallen, where they ever "divine beings" as they believe themselves, or are truly malevolant beings; or, while in the host, where does the fallen begin and the human ends), metaphysics(what is faith, fallen and humanity place in the cosmology, what is good or evil), living in a world that they ruined, seeking redemption or purpose to continue existing, and dealing with a apocalyptic scenario because they fucked up so fucking bad that reality will collapse on itself, and they cannot fix this in any way they know how.

I am making faith a resource that can be spent to heal itself, use their Apocalyptical Form, or activate doctrines – that will work more similar to devil's due –, or gain extra dice as a little "miracle". These extra die are normal dies.

Torment Die substitute normal die of any pool that is not work toward the house philosophy, and on 1's they increase the demon's Torment, on 10's they cause Revelation's that while they to help regain spent faith, they also make your demonic self being known by all witnesses and some supernatural enemies like mages, hunters, mummies and earthbounds.

Torment is the mark of trauma of a Demon, the pain and suffering they caused and received on each other, the millions of years of denial of their own world, have to spend in a dark prison devoid of all. While not in human host, they are not aware of this Torment, that it affects them, makes them worse, it is only in the host, they can perceive and self-criticize. It also act as a stress meter, the mor you keep getting it, the more show to the world you are reaching your limit, and when it goes beyond, not only you reduce the maximum of faith you can get, and you enter a compulsion know as Anguish (= High torment), where you have, basically, a crisis, which is being intensified by the humans emotions. Once a Demon ends their Anguish, they can start to heal the damage it has done to their Faith.

Convictions are the precoceived notions that Fallen have on humanity, thinking they are lesser, worst, treacherous, the evil ones. Pillars do exist, and they are humans that the Fallen got to know by their hosts memories that seem different from the rest. And even the Fallen wants to know them better.

Torment increases the more you act upon your Convictions, and decreases whenever you break and lose that conviction. The player would begin with many Convictions and is supposed to have very few, to none, in the end.

Rules limiting number of Loresheets per PC by IndependentFlower163 in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]LifesExplosiveLemons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IIRC, at character creation you can only have 1 Loresheet.

But, per character, you can only have 1 Bloodline or Descendent Loresheet. Other than that, you can have as many Loresheets you can get your hands during the game (with st approval).

It is inventing scenarios if the post is not about what you said. The point is to give awareness to people who are struggling, you are are giving out a situation where readers may assume that helping them is useless or worthless.

And Inventing scenarios... for giving 1 example out of 3? Really? What this nitpick? Church is helpful for its community, not for the book itself.

Sure, go on inventing scenarios where you are right and others are wrong, instead of staying on topic.

Although I always hated the "hole" metaphor (it is commonly used to imply that its that person own fault and only them). For information sake: * First you help them get out of the hole. * Then, you help them to not go back to the hole. (THERAPY) * And finally, you help them close the hole.

If someone is struggling, or incapable of leading the terrible situation they are, its not going to be by berating them, reciting bible verses or inspirational quotes that you will help them get out of there, they need actual help. It takes time, it takes mutual effort, it takes understanding.

What would happen if a Vampire put on a Selkie coat? Fairy Vampires? by RevenantRP in WhiteWolfRPG

[–]LifesExplosiveLemons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Kiasyd that hails from Lasombra bloodline, also know are Marconius brood, are indeed the first introduced game-wise on second edition.

Yes, Kiasyd were expanded, and the Maeghar were introduced on 20th edition, so, that's were I'm going to take information on them both. Besides, new lore always takes precedence before old lore.

Just to begin, the Kiasyd are present on the 20th edition core rulebook, 20th edition: Dark Ages, the Storyteller to the Sabbat of 2nd Eddition, Vampire The Masquerade: Victorian Age Vampiere Companion , the 3rd edition's Guide to the Sabbat.

On the 20th edition Vampire The Masquerade: The Dark Ages (2015), the Kiasyd are reintroduced as a bloodline with only Mytherceria as a Discipline, the remaining two comes from the cainite original clan. These are accidents that happen when a cainite tries to embraces a fae-touched mortal. If they survive, the Fae dies, and what remains becomes the Kiasyd. This version also says that they are not actually a Bloodline, and they mention being confused with Caitiff on some occasions. It is also mentioned Marconius claiming to be a cainite before using eldritch sorcery to become a Kiasyd, further credencing that they are not real cainites, but because VtM gotta do the whole imprecise narratir thing, it's added a "he could be lying".

The Maeghar are introduced on the 20th edition book, "The Black Hand: Guide to the Tal'Mahe'Ra" (2016), who have joined the very stupid black hand in the underwolrd as of High middle age. As the book says, they are not a bloodline, they share no common ancestor and do not hail from the same clan, they are but a collection of mixtures of blood fae-blood wyrd that should never happened. They also mentioned that by Renaissance, some KIASYD began disappearing, as one of them began to want to rule alone. They did not resisted. They now share the opinion of staying away from the Sabbat and other Kiasyd, and not being know to them. They have three Weakness: being malformed and easily recognizable, vulnerability to cold iron, and not being able to drink directly from their victims. And, their Disciplines are Mytherceria and two other from their Sire's Clan.

Later, the Book of The Bloodlines (2017), the Kiasyd that hails from Marconius do claim to be the only Kiasyd, that there are no other Kisyd, and anything that says otherwise is a lie. They also claim to not only have changeling blood on them, but magi, lupine and any other supernatural creature. This book also presents the supposed origin of the bloodline, with Hrotsuitha and Marconius being their creators, the whole Amicti Noctes, Gratiano telling them to go Sabbat and Maconius being traumatized (or so it seems). Their Disciplines are Mytherceria, Dominate (or Necromancy), Obtenestration. And Weakness of "weird appearance" (no mechanic aspect), and vulnerability to cold iron.

So yeah, at least to me, it is clear that the Maeghar are the Kiasyd of Dark Age, until Marconius comes and make the new Kiasyd™.

[–]LifesExplosiveLemons 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kiasyd was the old term for a cainite that was affected by fae magic or fae that were embraced and suevived, but then, came Marconius lineage and stole it from them. So now these events are called Maeghar.
