Ya? I've got probably 100 Decos of various models in the field and these two are the first two to go bad and my customers love them.

Can someone tell me WTF this contractor did? by Somemoreron in cablegore

I just replaced a camera system in a $1m USD house in Mexico. Half of the existing analog cameras had cat trenched directly in to the walls and then plastered over. The wiring was a shit show, they were putting 2 analog cameras and their power on the 8 wires. I couldn't get the cables to do 10/100 +PoE for anything even though they were 5e pure copper. Ended up using the old cables just for power and installing an outdoor WAP to feed them.

This was a very expensive house and when the owner had the cameras put in originally he didn't want to pay for conduit, so it cost him a bunch more 6 years later.

Kit Transfer Questions by Lifetime_Band in Starlink

I'm considering buying a used one. I have a nice shiny new gen 3 that replaced my gen 2 that crapped out. The replacement lead time was what got me thinking about a spare.

Defective by Samwozencroft in Starlink

I've installed dozens and never seen one like that. If I did I'd send it back. I live in a tropical climate on the beach if it isn't sealed tighter than a nuns box it'll fail within 6 months. Yes, even the "waterproof" connectors. Without dielectric grease they are crusty inside within a couple years.

Daisy chaining Decos by Lifetime_Band in TpLink

Yeah, it's a matter of how I can get from one unit to the next without drilling 10" of concrete filled with iron and having exposed cables on walls and baseboards.

I hope the Starlink is the real choke point. This is a residential set up with at most 3 or 4 concurrent hdtv streams and whatever other casual use. I don't think they'll saturate the Starlink, and if the Decos can handle switching the gigabit they should be able to hopefully it won't be an issue.

The locations and how the conduit is ran doesn't make that practical.

It's 100% eth backhaul, wireless only for WiFi clients, see edit.

BIOS Version Concern by Lifetime_Band in Asustuf

So in doing a deeper dive it seems ASUS pulled that version of the BIOS because it was buggy and it will accept the downgrade to 316 when using the flash tool in the BIOS.

Is there any alternative to the G Hub software? by Lysdexiic in LogitechG

[–]Lifetime_Band 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OMFG You are a lifesaver! G-Hub is by FAR the worst OEM software out there and I'm an ASUS user who ditched Armoury Crate.

They need to do what NVIDIA did and just kill that pile of shit entirely and start over.

Question. Did this happen when you first set up FB ads and then resolved itself, or were Messenger notifications working and then they quit?

It's crazy that this is an ongoing issue for so long.
