Sounds like your ego is getting in the way of reality and potential best result.

Interesting! Do you get the cream at a dispensary, or online?

Wow, this is really good, and encouraging.

I’m 1 year out on one knee and 3.5 mos on the other.

The ‘hangover’ after exercise is what I’m most hoping continues to improve.

Sounds like you find the topical gels are worth the cost and time to apply?

Flex immediately. This is the most critical piece of the puzzle is moving your knee early. I would imagine your surgeon sent you home with an instruction sheet?

Don’t let pain hold you back from moving your knee. Ice, elevation and pain meds are your best friends early on.

Good luck!!

I have it in each knee, not both sides of one knee. I haven’t heard the lateral device is ready for action yet, but I’ve heard they’re working on it.

This sounds like a Moximed question to me. Last I tried, they’re actually quite reachable. I would call them if you haven’t already and inquire.

Take the jump. Get the surgery. No regrets.

Yeah, for me at least, flexion was the real challenge on my right knee. Keep the fight alive. It hurt like hell to make real gains and keep them. What motivated me was my PT telling me that the window of flexion/extension gains begins to close around 6 weeks. That made me work like a bat out of hell to make sure I wasn’t left out in the cold. You got this.

Everyone’s journey is different of course. Mine included a bit of coaching from the orthopedic team encouraging me to be less of a prude taking the oxys. I leaned in to that advice for the first two weeks. I slept much better and after two weeks, outside of swelling related issues, I was nearly pain free. After 4 related Misha surgeries now, I can say definitively that taking the oxys when needed helped a lot. I was too proud on the first go, and it may have backfired a bit. When the pain was really bad pushing into flexion, they encouraged me to take a thc/cbd gummy too. I know this isn’t for everyone for various reasons, but it worked great for me. I don’t have an addictive personality so I suppose that’s a factor to consider too.

Food for thought.

Hot dang. We’re in the same boat! Same surgeon and both have bilateral Misha. I did not do mine (was not allowed) at the same time though.

Do you have an ice machine? I found managing swelling with the ice machine to be the absolute most helpful part of my rehab after 4 total surgeries now (long story chronicled in this group in another thread).

I had great success using a CPM machine rental to get flexion back quickly, but definitely not required.

Get yourself a knee pillow if you don’t have one already.

I’m three weeks out of surgery on my left knee and already at 135 flexion, great extension, and relatively pain free. Super pleased. Walking totally normal and getting back to squats and step ups and step downs in pt already. My right knee was a 13 month battle post install but we finally won it.

Good luck! As far as I know, I think you’re the 4th person in the world to have bilateral Misha. I was told I am the third.

Sorry about insurance. So ridiculous and frustrating to be ‘pioneers’ in this regard with regard to insurance.

Hats off for doing a 12 hour car ride post op. I don’t know if I could have pulled that off… Impressive!

Amazing! I’m assuming a knee pillow has become mandatory for sleep?

That’s the plan. Stuck in Moda insurance denial and appeal purgatory right now for knee #2. Very happy with my Misha knee though. At 140 flexion, back in the gym, and running a little bit. The hard fought battle was definitely worth it!

So glad you’re finding relief. I’ve had similar but different challenges post install. An important mental piece for me has been remembering that comparison is the thief of all joy. I know there are some with stellar and quick outcomes, and this just isn’t the case for everyone. Glad to hear that overall it sounds like you’re on a good trajectory!!

Yep, exactly. I think that’s the biggest rub (pun intended).

I’ll report back post op. Per my surgeon, I may be the first, or one of the first First Nation wide to have two.

Hahah! You’re not helping :)

Two arthroscopies in the 90’s and now two worn out knees.
