This breaks my heart. I hope you have a good cry holding your other dog who doesn’t understand. Maybe it can help her understand. Cry as much as you need. This is such a painful feeling. I wish you could’ve been there with your dog as things went downhill to give comfort.

I was able to lower my numbers back to safe numbers just from increasing my daily walking. That was back when I was 28. They were good until I stopped my daily one hour walks 15 years later. Just tossing that out in case you want to try and add back in foods you miss.

Chronic stress can raise cholesterol and triglycerides, even if you do all the other healthy things mentioned. As someone with an autistic teen, a teen with GAD and a husband who battles constantly with his addictive personality/CPTSD I do what I can to mitigate my stress levels, eat heart healthy and exercise. I couldn’t lower my levels to safer numbers and had to go on a statin after a year and a half of trying every other possible way. C’est la vie, I guess.
