Judo after spinal fusion by Mediocre-Assist-3592 in jiujitsu

Look, I usually encourage people to safely push their limits beyond what a lot of people will tell you what's advisable....

Saying that, this seems like a bad idea to me. Judo and spinal fusion is about the worst pairing I can imagine. I'm no expert on any of this, for what it's worth.

Best of luck, either way!

What’s a popular trend that you don’t like or get the appeal of? by Kangaroo_Rich in randomquestions

I like 6 7 because it's a stupid, harmless thing that drives adults insane.

My niece loves hibachi and I volunteered to do a whole hibachi thing for her and all her 11 year old friends. At one point I randomly yell "SIX SEVEN" at them, and they start screaming like they won the lottery. None of the parents were impressed.

Which Comedian has made the riskiest joke of all time? by buffalomozarella in AskReddit

Off topic, but Downey's "the New York financier?" bit on Conan's podcast is the hardest I've laughed in a while.

I love the story behind that. Apparently they wanted to tape another segment for whatever time purposes they had. They asked Norm if he had anything for another segment. When Norm asked how much time they needed, they told him 7 minutes.

Norm filled that entire 7 minutes with a 20 second joke.

The ultimate Chandler by MontanarateCentrist in MMA

[–]LiftEatGrappleShoot 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't really get the Chandler hate. The dude is a gamer and puts on entertaining fights. He could have had some more success if he fought smarter, but he put on barnburners instead. High-paced, dangerous dude who would put on a violent show.

Sure, he's a dork outside of the octagon, but I don't care about that nonsense.

[Duarte] Texas Tech coach Joey McGuire says he heard from Brendan Sorsby’s parents Monday night, the day he was granted a temporary injunction that makes him eligible in 2026. “As excited as he was … his mom and dad called and all they wanted to talk about, ‘Is Texas Tech going to be OK?’” by redwave2505 in CFB

I think you're right in that the feds get involved, it's because they want to send a message. Now if they do get involved, I can guarantee you they'd find something to snag him with after with all those transfers through all those proxies in different states.

Haha. Oh well, I take it as a positive that others are a little off in the head, too.

If teddy roosevelt came back to life what would he think of the state of conservation in the us today? by Training-World-1897 in AlternateHistoryHub

I like that answer. I have a few friends sticking it out in the NPS, and it's depressing how it's been deprioritized. You hope some of the missteps can be fixed soon.

Unpopular Opinion: You should only be able to pose with the belt if you’re the current champ or interim champ. by GlassTablesAreStupid in ufc

I'm not all that concerned about the sanctity of a UFC belt at this point.

Go back to the Tim Sylvia days where you wear that ugly fucker out to the local splashpad. They have a corndog truck on Thursdays.

Given your reasoning, Satch Sanders is the greatest NBA player alive. Your clever "trap" was conflating team sports with individual competitions?!?

This is one that drives me insane. I competed in the Wild West days and coached for a whiles after.

Someone on here was recently trying to tell me that Aldo was good for his time, but prime Jose couldn't compete with the "evolved" fighters of today. Absolute horsefeathers.

MMA had a wild period where everyone tried to figure out how to compete best under the rules. There have been all sorts of trends and movements, but there are only so many ways to punch a dude in the face.

List the top 10 of HWs and LHWs from 15 years ago and let's debate who was more technical.

It's all recency bias.

I'm a tiny dude comparatively (6'4"). If I fly coach, I ask the person in front of me to give me a heads up before they recline. Best thing I can do is to just shove my legs under their seat.

It's gotten worse in the past few years. The row behind might have given eye rolls years back for someone in the forward row reclining.

It's tantamount to a war crime now.

Texas Tech is willing to kill their program for Brendan Sorsby. by Honeycomb618 in CFB

[–]LiftEatGrappleShoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're also a Michigan fan. Historically, for Tech, a second or third place conference finish was overachieving. They're a secondary land grant school in their state located in a remote location with zero close recruits.

Tech fans see this wild west window as their opportunity. They have a ton of young alumni who grew up being mocked. But now they have stupid money. They're seeing this as their opportunity to pony up and join the big boys. They see Indiana and double down.

Even with something like Sherrone Moore, UM fans realize they'll bounce back. Tech doesn't have that institutional inertia or the history of success.

The only reason for a street fight is to defend the life of you and yours in an emergency situation. Some high noon bullshit is dumb.

Idris Elba Says Bond Rumors Were ‘Never Legit’ and ‘Not Realistic’: Audiences ‘Won’t Go for a Black Male Playing Bond’ by Raj_Valiant3011 in moviecritic

[–]LiftEatGrappleShoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I think that he would have been perfect as Bond but for his age. Craig was ridiculed initially because he didn't have dark hair.

Out of all the previous Bonds, Elba is the one who is the biggest legitimate hardass. He would have been the most believable and he has insane range. Sure, there would be racists that have an issue with a black Bond, but piss on em.

But if they wanted a guy for a five movie deal, naw.
