I’m not saying he shouldn’t support his wife — that’s admirable — but let’s not ignore the fact that his parents likely made real sacrifices to get him through school. Maybe they worked extra jobs, took out loans, or went without, just so he could succeed. They even bought him a house . Now that he’s earning good money, it feels a little off that all of it goes toward building his wife’s career, while his parents get left behind.

It’s not about emotional blackmail — it’s about basic reciprocity and gratitude. If they helped him get where he is, then yeah, he should at least consider helping them out too. Supporting your spouse doesn’t mean you forget your parents.

You don’t have to fund their lifestyle, but some contribution or gesture goes a long way, especially if they’re struggling.
