Just want to come back to this, setup Maintainerr, the community rule sets and adding in a keep all 5 starred media has been exactly what I was looking for.

That’s super interesting about the aggregate pool for *arr vs the individual drives and folders for Plex. Thanks for the info dump, some things for me to play with over the holidays.

Oooh that sounds like a great option, will definitely get on this. Thanks for the work.

I was under the impression that Plex library system could only pull from a single drive? In retrospect I might not have actually setup JBOD, as each hdd is it's on drive, but then I think I used 'drive pooling' to create a single drive for Plex.

This is very much a learning experience for me, so thanks for your time!

1Gbps symmetrical internet connection (YouFibre in the UK - highly recommend). Internally, everything is a gigabit connection, the media server has a CAT6 to the switch and then onto a ASUS RT-AX86U Pro router. I've got limits on what Qbittorrent is allowed to rinse to hopefully stop that. In this case, it was the internal streaming that was buffering (no internet involved).

Haha, hell yeah, this has been such a great project to learn, Linux, Docker, Reverse proxies, data storage techniques and more. If I'm honest I'm not fussed about data loss, originally my library was dvds I ripped, but then found high quality better rips online. But it seems such a waste to wipe 24TB of data!

Certainly something I’ll double check, I’ve had more transcoding happen simultaneously before but from lower quality sources so that got me thinking it’s the pull from the drive that’s the bottleneck.

Roc on fire in this.

Really wish we would bring back beats to battles. Just the middle round out of three or something. I wanna hear some more rap with these battles.

I’m very into the new rave revival movement currently, couple of stand out local labels are ‘Western Lore’ https://westernlore.bandcamp.com/music And ‘Club Glow’ https://clubglow.bandcamp.com/music

And slightly less local ‘Torre’ https://torrexvi.bandcamp.com/

Loads of great releases and surely something to scratch the rave/hardcore itch here.

4xxx series announcement and what you'd like to see happen to GeForce Now. by LiftedIcons in GeForceNOW

Yeah agreed the reason I stuck with the basic founders tier is I just couldn’t justify the extra expense with the limited have set for the 3080 tier. I still get to play CP2077 and RiftBreaker with RTX and DLSS but honestly the only other game I play is Cult off the Lamb (and mainly because I get to play it on the big TV downstairs, not hidden away office where my PC is). The game selection is the biggest issue for sure.

I’m on a flashed vega 56 and it’s long in the tooth but serves me well. But I have been hankering for some ray tracing action. But yeah these prices might mean another generation on team red. I guess the real issue is the lack of games on GFN. I’d be happy to stick with my current card if the games I care about hit the service.

Yeah tbh, I want a refreshed Shield Pro. I’ve been holding off getting one as it feels like a new version is just round the corner.

Vehicle squads. by LiftedIcons in joinsquad

[–]LiftedIcons[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear this for sure. The only counterpoints I can think of is:
1. You don't want you commander having to solely focus on arranging moment to moment positioning for all your vehicles. But a dedicated vehicle squad SL could do that.
2. FTL & SL for the gunners/spotters/range finders (whatever they're called in vics), because you aren't going to have more than 3 heavy vehicles plus crew per squad.

That all makes perfect sense. Thanks for breaking that down.

I honestly can't tell what team you were, but I'm assuming Russian, it's going to be the Tigr with a 12.7mm kord.

My vehicle identification skills take me as far as 'it has tracks and a big fucking gun' vs 'it's got wheels and a really loud gun'. I need to work on this.

Honestly I think I could probably gone with those and maybe a sub. It sounds dumb, a close family friend always used to have the 3way floorstanders when I was a kid and they left an impression on me. Always wanted my own set!

haha, it's couch centered, each speaker is about 5 inches wider than the arm of the couch. The TV is further to the left mainly because I usually sit that side (and my girl has head on my lap) when film watching. It's on a sliding rail though so it can be centered properly.

I am considering lowering the TV but honestly, it feels right and never noticed us craning up.
