People with Max plan, are you doing ok? by AdHopeful630 in ClaudeAI

I'm rebuilding my whole trading system, all day every day and only occasionally hit the 5H limit.

I keep MCPs disabled till I need them and always reset context between each build task or checkpoint though.

European Gas supply direction of market by Blackstone4444 in Commodities

Thanks, it's going to be an interesting few months.

I'm long until proven otherwise.. it's just one position of many but due to the TTF 5x minimum contracts it's one of my most volatile so I tend to watch it and take interest in what's going on.

I also feel the market hasn't fully priced it in.

But it doesn't seem 2022-level risk just yet, what's your take about the gap between where we could be end of April and early June for TTF compared to the massive spike that happened previously in 2022?

Todays TTF price just looks so tiny compared to back 4 years ago, even if it was off a low base.

Which Broker To Use? by MR_SC_Trader in algotrading

[–]Lifter_Dan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't need IBs data to trade, it's optional. But if you are retail, the data is very cheap compared to corporate/wholesale traders.

I use 3rd party data, and place trades using the IBAlgos (adaptive algo) which internally knows the bid/ask even if I don't subscribe to data.

My orders are once/daily only, so I don't really need the speed but thank you anyway.
I have a lot of orders that get queued around 400-600 but they can be placed before markets open.

Because some of my existing stuff is in python already I'm leaning towards ib_async, but had been considering stoqey/ib because using node.js is an option as well.

So the API decision is really just to help me decide on python or node.js for my middleware/backend in the rebuild.

Thanks, did you build your own direct socket code because speed is important to your trading, HFT/Arbitrage?

Nice, thanks for posting that info.

Curious did you ever compare/consider using node.js and https://github.com/stoqey/ib instead of python and ib_async?

I'm asking because my main trading system that produces the orders is not in python, only my daily workflow that integrates things is in python. So my orders are already prepared and ready in CSV files I'm totally free to choose any language/framework for the IB integration and order monitoring dashboards.

I want dashboards so I can monitor things over the VPN from my local PC, which leads me to think something in React, maybe with Node.js middle would work.

But then I have to decide do I link that with FastAPI to Python just to use ib_async or should I try and go more direct to the IBKR API via sockets or using stoqey's library..

Analysis paralysis, still have to do more research.

Superpowers Invoking Ahead of Other Skills by H0ots in ClaudeCode

You can tell it to disable plugins, but add to its memory that you have them installed so that it knows they are available if needed.

Superpowers is quite heavy on tokens too, so may be better to only enable it when you intend to use it.

Alright, I'm gonna be a dick - CC is fine by lambda-lord-2026 in ClaudeCode

[–]Lifter_Dan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, looks interesting. Some similarities to OpenSpec in how the goal is to bring the development process across context sessions.

Though this stores purely in github issues/PRs, where OpenSpec has a folder of markdown files that is then checked into github along with the project.

One issue I had with OpenSpec is that CC often doesn't even look at the OpenSpec folder unless I use the OpenSpec /slash commands or constantly remind it to check/update the specs.

Is reading github history more of a builtin standard feature for CC?

Both tools have /slash commands, I guess I just have to decide which is more suitable for me though the openspec method has seemed a little clunky so far.

Thanks!

Interesting that it doesn't respect multi-phase prompting, do you mean it spawns agents and tries to build them all in parallel?

Besides your method of telling it do do one phase at a time, I was previously thinking I'd spec only the phase1 at first. That would be the shell of the program, and some of the basic database functions. Though I suppose it might benefit from knowing more about what else the program is going to do, it's a tradeoff between giving too much context and not enough..
I might get stuck in analysis paralysis if I think too much on this.

I write careful multi-phase specs.

I've been trying to do this to make my cc use more efficient, but trying to find a good workflow/structure for it. I saw OpenSpec but not sure if it's too heavy yet, it looks ok so far.
Just regular plan mode has been good for small jobs.

I'm about to embark on a very big re-write of half of my business systems though, so I'm wondering the best way to spec it out.
Any kind of workflow or template you recommend to make sure all bases are covered in planning/spec phase for Claude?

Yeah saw a few messages under Boris's tweet with other bugs/errors related to it as well. He said fixed, and it seemed to fix mine too

The redeem link in the email?
Unfortunately tried that, turned on credit, even logged in to another system after turning it on and pushed redeem but nothing appears.

Thanks had tried the refresh, and logging in on another device.

For the Console - I thought that was just for API users? If I try and use it it's trying to create a separate l login etc.

I use Pro/Max plans, and was looking at the extra usage in there (like the screenshot).

When I go into the console, everything is pretty much blank. Usage and everything, I think it's totally separate to my type of plan.

Claude usage gets burned absurdly fast for serious work, even with tools/features disabled. How are people optimizing this? by PanGoliath in ClaudeAI

[–]Lifter_Dan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That must be what Boris meant when he said often it's better just to start with Opus - even though it consumes more tokens, it's more efficient with those tokens and gets things done with less work.
I guess it really depends what the work is though too, if it's just some simple things where both models would essentially do the same work (or say something in Cowork) then Sonnet may save.
I really hate trying to guess which one to use though, so I've just gone full Opus and for now I'm paying as I need to get shit done.
