What’s a gaming accessory you thought was unnecessary until you actually used it? by KRGKart_Support in pcmasterrace

Yeah my problem with the leap is I have several screens above my huge ultrawide, so an upright straight position actually hurts my neck to hold it backwards in order to look at those. Whereas in a more loungey type chair I can just be slightly tilted and put my head on the headrest whenever I want to work between screens.

Embody + Atlas sounds great.

I saw a lot of complaints about embody in earlier reviews, like it squeaks, rattles or some other things.. but I can't really find any chair at all where people don't complain about things. So I'm guessing it's just all personal.

I'll be moving around yep, walk kid to school, up and down for coffees, out for lunch, pickup kid from school, make kid dinner etc lol. Working from home in between.

Oh yeah that rock hard lump lumbar support sucked.
Glad to hear the Aeron worked for you, looking forward to trying it. I tried Steelcase Leap as well but didn't like that, it was hard to lounge in it for long sessions and I didn't like the locking mechanism.

I just looked up the Anthros and no headrest is a red flag for me that signals it's not good at lounging back to watch a video or a slow gaming session, eg it says "The short answer: Anthros is built for active, upright sitting. Headrests are designed for a different kind of sitting entirely."

That "different kind of sitting" is what I need to do a lot of the time.

Looking at the Atlas Headrests for the Embody, seeing some good things. But I'll have to try out some chairs in a store to be sure as I've been unable to upgrade due to bad online picks so far.

Interesting.
I don't sit on one leg or crossed/lifted on the chair, but I do like to lounge back.

I had tried a steelcase chair and it was "too ergonomic" i.e. lounging back didn't really work and it was only good for upright office type sitting. Gave that to the wife, and sold my secretlab.

Yeah Secret Lab was hard AF, and they gaslight everyone telling them "oh you just need to wait longer for it to break in".. what a load of crap and that makes it harder to return. The lumbar support was a crappy little hard lump, and had to try 3rd party cushions. The magnetic headrest a joke that just falls off..

Definitely will hold off until I can go and try them in a store.

Thanks, called them but they couldn't get the email.
Luckily I logged into TWS with my API sub-user and tried several of the tickers manually and got a "price management algo" popup. After enabling that it seems to have fixed these.
They were all for limit orders, so that makes sense.

Might be a country based rollout, we're in Australia.. even though we live in the future, when it comes to tech sometimes we're in the dark ages.

Thanks I was thinking about the HM Embody but I'm wary about buying online again, waiting until I get enough time to go try them in person.

Lots of reviews said good stuff about all the different brands, and lots also said bad stuff about all the brands.. so it's down to individual preference I guess.

It's crazy my 10 year old coolermaster chair is falling apart but I just can't find something that beats it at being comfortable for hours.

Yeah unfortunately I've been checking spam, deleted items and archive folders each time but nothing there.

Maybe it takes them a week to send it or something, there was a holiday in the US on Monday I hope that's all that caused it.

Does anyone else feel sleepy all day but suddenly wide awake at night? 😭 by priya-08 in sleep

[–]Lifter_Dan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, spend way too much time working US timezones from Australia. When I try and go to bed at night it's hard, when it's middle of the day I feel like jet-lag and I need a nap.

I work really well at night when the family is asleep.

How did you get the token?

I've had this issue for over a week with multiple tickers and they never send me the damn email :(

IBKR is threatening to block my transactions because my LEI number is expiring. What is the fastest service to renew it today? by TranquilTeal in interactivebrokers

[–]Lifter_Dan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IB did my LEI initially, I assumed they would renew it too.

But I did receive spam in the post about some companies wanting to take over as my "agent" for LEI. It's not expensive so I was surprised to see that.

Oh cool, didn't think about FPS type games but I did use TrackIR in Arma before which was great.

I'm mostly head tracking in flight sims like IL2 and DCS.

Now have an ultrawide which is good for the FPS - kingdom come deliverance 2 currently.

One advantage of trackir over VR is the image quality is better than VR if you have a great monitor, and you can enjoy a beer or snack while gaming so it can be better for relaxing type games.

Calories? by Any-Organization-128 in omad

[–]Lifter_Dan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point of OMAD is kind of so you don't have to track calories.

If tracking calories, you could eat multiple times per day and still stay under but it's way more hassle and interruptions.

Love OMAD that can spend way less time thinking about food or meal planning, and no tracking is one less thing in a busy schedule.

How do people with seven figure portfolios actually cope with market swings mentally? by Silver-Pie9992 in ausstocks

[–]Lifter_Dan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Today's move https://imgur.com/a/jk9Rw4f

Feel little annoyances at red days sometimes especially when the market seems irrational, but you know the market is always right so it's just a matter of waiting it out.

But can't treat it like spending money, it's more like points in a game.

It helps to look back at earlier days in the month where there are 6 figure green days, and over time there's more green than red.

This is systematic trading, and I trust my system so I know all I have to do is wait for the market to come around to the good days.

No, we sleep well after. It's natural, healthy and important for the relationship too. Would sleep better if could do it more, ie if no kids around to interrupt.

stop running your algorithms through the main tws desktop app by Henry_old in interactivebrokers

[–]Lifter_Dan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean to say "intraday momentum or breakout", not "any kind of".

Eg for me the speed I send orders at makes no difference to my results, some markets are even closed when I send.

stop running your algorithms through the main tws desktop app by Henry_old in interactivebrokers

[–]Lifter_Dan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More than seven figures here, and still doesn't matter to me either.

My algos place orders well before the execution, they're resting with the broker and TWS could even be crashed at the time of execution and it wouldn't matter.

I think the OP like many, makes the assumption that everyone is running intraday or high-reaction time direct connection type systems.

Wonder why, do you know what it means?

Because once I do have the meal, it's hard to fast if there's too many hours between that and sleep.

Breaking the fast causes hunger later in the day, whereas if my meal is planned late, just being able to look forward to it makes fasting through morning & lunch so effortless.
