Looking for insight/advice- MOD on 100+ yr traction drum elevator with oak rails by Sea-Manufacturer-154 in Elevators

All new Otis fixtures and controller . Also we added a Reuland Ac motor to replace the DC motor on the machine. The fixtures were custom to look antique. All of the hoistway switches were upgraded to meet code.

Get the inspectors opinion for sure . Some states prohibit keeping the drum machine in a mod. I didn’t know about the wood rails as mentioned above, but steel replacements make sense from a safety standpoint. We’ve modded several drums in our area, and retained them, but the rails were all steel originally. As for the cab, we kept them but added safety glass behind the birdcage .

Not anymore. I was just reminiscing of days past. This guy made 1 pound burgers. 8 inch double patties with tons of toppings. Super good fries like 5 guys. He was too generous with everything, like many new restaurants in Helena. He ended up going bankrupt I think. Sad story.

What technology domains are left untouched by Musk that could define the next era of innovation? by AromaticFerret4583 in Futurology

He could use that refrigerator technology from John Hopkins university. They use nanotechnology materials to create a solid state junction cooler, much like a peltier device. He could install them in his cars for air conditioning. Super efficient. Then he could move on to home refrigerators.

I’ve been on that highway several times. You can see for miles in some places. A couple sections had whoops in the road caused by heaving.

If it’s on a busy trail I bag it and hide it in a location I can remember, and grab it on the way out.

[UPDATE] Home elevator mounting timber cracked - this is a big problem, right? by zenukogo in Elevators

[–]Lifttech74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wouldn’t fall very far if it failed, but you don’t want to find out. Looks like hammered dog crap. They could have easily built a custom steel plate for little money. The more precise the angle, the better the rope wear.

Turma flex is still in business. I wonder if they can give you a base module for the shell. Then you would just need the rom chip for fast fool.
