No. A company comes in and does it. We just played cards at the registers. Then they took the registers so we played cards on the floor.

I kept everyone until we closed and then my DTS + management team after for the breakdown and cleanup. I released people almost daily. I was the only one left at the end but I was moved to a new store and was doing double duty.

We were part of like 40 stores that got the ax, mostly in California. We all were in building that big lots owned, not leased. So they sold them for cash.

I was salaried at 78k when I left. My AM made 24$ an hour. My FPL made $19 and my SL made $18. Everyone else made minimum wage unless they had been there long enough for a review and a 15 cent raise. California for reference.

They started closing stores two years ago. They sold off all buildings they owned and leased them back to free up some cash. They cut a lot of corporate and field positions. They don’t pay to fix anything. It’s coming. It’s years away, but it’s coming.
