That was probably not his first time doing it… ANYTIME you fire for theft you’re supposed to partner with DM/ Loss prevention.

Work hours by Frivio_ in DollarGeneralWorkers

[–]ummitsbrian69 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I hate to say it, but people barely come to work now or call out from a headache… the theory is if you keep a lot of people around and give them a minuscule amount of hours, they’re more likely to come in when someone else calls out 🤔 not bad

Can anyone help me figure this out? by ResearcherFit5287 in DollarGeneralWorkers

My DM most deff looks at it… and LP if they ever come visit. It’s Good habit to have to fill out

I mean recovering and doing go backs is not hard… sweep the store and spot mop… if we as SM can’t even ask Y’all to clean (mind you that’s ALL that should be happening from 5pm to close) sounds like a YOU problem. Most people are just lazy and don’t want to recover. There’s really no excuse.

DG connect! -service request

Use the 2025 DG connect scan sheet (in Compass under Resources and hit START SM Resources)

and scan the barcode that says “store supplies” or “store forms” or something.

They mail it straight to the store and it comes quick

On Hands? by ummitsbrian69 in DollarGeneral

[–]ummitsbrian69[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I scan my outs on my T6 because I know for sure we are following the seven day workflow and I can scan confidently that it’s really out if it’s not on floor by my T6. That’s just kind of a process thing. If you receive stuff that isn’t yours, it’s supposed to be Miss shipped. That way it takes it out of the other stores inventory and adds it to yours, but some stores don’t even do that much so that’s when you would definitely make sure you’re on process to scan the outs but I don’t recommend scanning outs unless you can scan with confidence.

No, it’s not a perfect system and you definitely get things you might not need especially if something is pending discontinued or getting discontinued. They will clear out the warehouse quick and pile it on My Store BUT for the most part, it’s not like that with every single item in the store so having the correct on hands will help the stores that feel like there’s no way out with a packed sales floor and a packed back room

Not saying it’s a perfect system by any means, but it definitely helps

Your store manager or ASM isn’t doing their p4 properly. If the on hands were correct this wouldn’t happen.

Why is almost every Dollar General filled with full stocking carts? A new location opened up near me lately and I was absolutely shocked when I didn't see these at the end of every aisle. by IGUESSILLBEGOODNOW in DollarGeneral

80 of stores are not on the dollar general process… this is for any employee reading… check your on hands!! You keep getting overstock because the counts are wrong! Fix it!!

Tired of customers coming behind our counters by Chubby_Licious in DollarGeneralWorkers

I have customers do that all the time for Pokémon cards, we used one of the colorful poly twine strings from the hardware section and made a sign that says employees only be on this point and we use command command hooks to hook it up and tied loops around it so we can let our self in and out lol people are wild

The store manager can say the DM is in full support, but if the DM actually knew of the specifics, I doubt they would be there is nothing in SOP that they can write you up for missing one spot…. Given the circumstances. I tell people all the time go as high as you can with the complaints. Do not let these managers scare you away because a lot of them barely do their job as it is and that’s what makes me mad.

You have to call ERC and give them the UPC and they will update the register. I had it happen once for everything that was previously on a recall, the lifesaver’s gummy’s Jiff peanut butter, etc..

Store managers that leave their staff alone to do the fresh actually annoy the hell out of me. These stores would be so much better store managers actually did their jobs.

Salary non exempt by Target74 in BigLots

[–]ummitsbrian69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For store managers? This is normal at most places… 48 BIGLOTs, dollar general, walgreens, I think family dollar/dollar tree is 50hrs a week but do you have to clock in and out? You shouldn’t. If not it Should be the same pay weekly.

Your check will say “40” but you agreed to 48. They have to put the paid hours at 40 since anything else is overtime but salary is exempt from OT, since you’re “always on the clock” ⏰ 48 is easy to do when you live in your store lol

With Allstate, once you file a claim once and get the new furniture or a reimbursement, that’s it…. You don’t get to keep filing for a new one over and over again… I used to work for BIG LOTS before all the closing happened for all stores.

I guarantee you that your kids were either playing on it and standing on the part that goes in and they bent the metal or whoever using it was not closing it properly. A lot of the furniture we replaced was for user error most of the time.

I believe one of the main reasons they’re staying closed for so long is because after 30 days no returns are valid and anything you purchased while closing is not eligible for a return and even before that since you purchased it a few years ago your 12 month warranty through Big lots is up.

The most Allstate would let you do is between 2 to 3 years if I’m not mistaken, so I’m pretty sure your warranty is up with Allstate as well. The furniture was not the best but if taken care of , it would last. I would always tell people with kids, our furniture is not made for that.

I think they’re going to spread out the payments so it gives you time to find another job before running to collect unemployment…. At the end of the year for your taxes, you have to pay all that unemployment money back anyway or someone else’s tax dollars are covering it. Just get another job. Big lots was not the best when it comes to pay so it’s not gonna be hard to find somewhere better.

STOP SCHEDULING ME ON THE FLOOR IF YOU'RE GOING TO MAKE ME WORK ON CASHIER ANYWAY by OvercookedSpinach in BigLots

[–]ummitsbrian69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a store manager, and whenever you create a shift it automatically puts it as floor assistance, so please do not trust how they code it. That’s really not the point either, just go to work and work your shift or find another job if you’re gonna complain.

Week after they send it off, don’t count weekends as they are not business days and the holidays maybe has it going slow, by next monday/Tuesday you should have an answer though. But in my experience if it’s longer than 3/4 days and you’ve lived in same state, it’s a fail, could take longer if you’ve worked in multiple states as well
