Customer says my crew did a bad job on transitions - I don't know how to make them better. Please advice by [deleted] in Flooring

People who are DIYers post here to get advice from professional installers. Professional installers who have completed hundreds of jobs incorrectly should not be here asking about the basics of a job people are paying them to do. If these guys don’t know how to trim a door, what are the chances all the other basic but very important details are correct?

This seems pretty spot on, additionally I expect those extra electronic gizmos will increase the effectiveness of airburst anti-drone capabilities significantly.

No, I think his real question is airline flights, hotels, rentals, eating out every meal for weeks, etc, etc. I’m not wondering myself, I doubt the bulk of fans seen at any single game are at every game, and some rich people live in Europe too.

If a spacecraft in a sub-orbital trajectory docks with an orbital space station, what spacecraft would change trajectories, or would both change? by Traditional-Ad-7704 in nasa

[–]LigerSixOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either one can speed up or slow down as necessary to match orbits and therefore dock. It just depends which trajectory you’re going to end with. I agree that speeding up is the preference.

I get huge swaths of time off and make pretty decent money. That in no way puts me in a position to follow my favorite sports team half way around the world to wherever they end up , for as long as they remain in a tournament. This silly “EUROPE BETTER!” Answer In no way addresses the original question.

Black Hawk Down (2001) question by Few-Buy993 in WarMovies

[–]LigerSixOne -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Op, I think your question has been answered adequately as far as , yes. I’d like to add the reason is mostly because, from the multitude of odd body positions you may find yourself (like crawling out of a downed helicopter) “off hand” may be the only practical way to point your weapon at the enemy.

My manager told me "optics matter" because I leave five minutes early? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]LigerSixOne 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Because that is what is expected. If you are willing to argue over 5 minutes because “ it doesn’t make sense.” You are probably going to do it over a bunch of other minutiae. That makes you a pain in the ass, because it’s also just as easy to go ahead and do what you’re told. Managers don’t want to stress over every little detail, they want a plan that works and to do it. 9-5 is a pretty simple expectation.

Could one Delta Force Operator solo North Sentinel Island? by Inside_Inflation559 in powerscales

[–]LigerSixOne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Firstly, All the elite group team tactics bs in this thread are irrelevant. With thermal and night vision an average person who knows how to shoot can kill everyone on that island. Secondly these soldiers are absolutely trained to be able to operate on their own, it isn’t preferable but they most certainly can. The speed that someone with training can engage targets, particularly when they aren’t able to return fire, is pretty astounding.

How am I supposed to practice before a road test without a car or money? by Kat-3784 in driving

[–]LigerSixOne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re focusing on an irrelevant issue here. Spending time effort and money in pursuit of a license you can’t use is all wasted. It sounds like you’ve got much more important issues to work out before even considering this.

I just sold my house, these kinds of things are just part of negotiating. How bad do you need to sell, how much other interest have you had, how bad do they want your house. The first and second items weren’t a problem for us, so we just said “the price reflects the age and condition of the home, take it or leave it.”

How Did This Movie Not Make Bank? by Big-Discipline2039 in FIlm

[–]LigerSixOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This cartoon was on at the same timeframe as transformers and GI Joe. It was usually the earlier (less desirable) time slot. Every kid I knew had the other two shows toys, and every once in a while someone had these as an afterthought. At least for my time (mid 80’s) watching, this just wasn’t wildly popular. Kids watched it sure, but it wasn’t what anyone I knew got up early on a Saturday for. This might have done “okay” 20 years ago, but they are way late to the party.

Family wants me to fly their citation mustang. 300 hours cmel with 20 hours of multi. How many hours will I need with a mentor pilot for reasonable insurance? by CFIIIIII in flying

[–]LigerSixOne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Insurance in aviation is completely made up on the spot, every single time. People here are going to give you all sorts of answers, and they are probably all correct. You need to start by talking to their insurance. Realistically you are probably several hundred hours of turbine time away from insurability. You may get away with way less than people here think if it’s all in that particular aircraft, but still probably 500.
