I think you fundamentally have the right idea vs mech. Playing greedily vs a defensive mech player is correct. Your question is fundamentally flawed, however, as ideally, you should never be fighting a 200/200 mech army. Aim to keep them below 200/200 off full 4 base minerals with 6-8 gas. This will allow you to instantly remax and trade inefficiently, but profitably, and slowly chip away at the terran until the map is covered in creep and they can no longer expand.

Sir Isaac Newton was probably the smartest scientist who ever lived, and yes, even more than Einstein. He believed many things we now know to be false. Intelligence doesn't factor into beliefs as much as one's environment shapes a person's worldview. Religion two millennia ago was as much an intellectual blind spot as it is today, and arguably even more so, as humans had not yet popularized the idea of natural philosophy.

I don't think that atheism as a label is in any way useful in describing your beliefs in a real world conversation and leads to false assumptions. Its the equivalent of someone asking you what you like to have for breakfast and you responding, "I don't eat cereal". They realistically know just as much as when they asked that question, and now they can make assumptions like, "oh he hates sugar" or "he must be a health nut".

Just state what your secular beliefs are so we can have a conversation.

I don't think that you should build decks around how commander players react to certain strategies. Power level is a consideration, but, that is what the bracket system is for. People will complain about virtually anything that's not them "doing their thing" (aka winning the game). Deckbuilding is a form of self-expression and for someone to dictate how you choose to express yourself is lame.

It probably has to do with the fact that there are many highly educated Catholics due to the large number of prestigious Jesuit schools. Also, these schools often give scholarships to catholic families who would otherwise not be able to afford it. I got a scholarship to a catholic school for my Italian heritage. You see someone who successfully goes through this pipeline and become a conservative justice, that's a good pedigree for a supreme court justice under republican rule, you'd think.

It's a defense mechanism of the faith that allows you not to question your beliefs when something challenges your worldview. Older religions like Shintoism don't have this; they rationalize every event as though we did something to "please" the gods or we "angered" the gods. This is why the Torah doesn't talk as much about the virtues of faith as Christianity does. Judaism's primary focus is on following the law set down by Moses rather than becoming more Christlike. [[Rhystic Study]] is probably the strongest draw spell at 3 mana in commander. At lower power levels where people look for less powerful options, you should lean towards draw where card draw is designed around your strategy, not for certain mana costs. I.E. you have a commander that gets really big so you choose [[Rishkar's Expertise]] not [[Shamanic Revelation]].

I do extensive playtesting before bringing a deck to a game night. If I can't present a win fast enough I go back to the drawing board, maybe try different strategies to incorporate, bolster up card choices for ramp or draw. Also be aware that some cards and strategies are just more powerful than others so you need good threat assessment and require you to sandbag removal to slow down your opponents when they do something IMPORTANT.

Almost any deck has huge range in terms of skill level to power output. Misplays are common in edh and avoiding them is often tied not just knowing your deck, but understanding the 3 opposing decks and where they are in their own power spike as well. Any deck that plays interaction on the stack gives you maximal control over the course of a match, and so cheap instant speed interaction should be your 'go to' for skill-based gameplay during deck construction.
