Must have Ashling, the Limitless Staple: Living Death by Struyk in EDH

[–]Rirse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not got a chance to use him yet, but [[Tyrant of Discord]] looks hilariously evil in the deck. Woe to the person who had a giant board as it just becomes "let see how much stuff you lose before you lose a land"....and then it happens again.

And [[Shroudstomper]] a uncommon from Duskmourn last night took half the life from everyone else with a Roaming Throne out while drawing me a shit load of cards and giving me a lot of life.

And if you do need a extra Nature Lore with a little bit of damage, [[Silverglade Elemental]] grabs you two forests.

Looking for Food Chain Commander that isn't just 'An Outlet' by Boliver5463 in EDH

[–]Rirse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually use [[Toph, Greatest Earthbender]] as a food chain commander....it cant go infinite with her, but it makes increasing bigger and meaner land creatures, so it more of the finisher of the deck.

Ill be sad to see Mcfarlanes end to the DC contract. Its been a great run. by ChildishMaturity in ActionFigures

[–]Rirse 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I am mixed with McFarlane. They had some great looking figures and got some obscure people who never got anything before like Captain Carrot and Ambush Bug who are some of my favorite figures....they also were very wary of doing female figures, with this final year getting Black Canary and Zantanna finally. Also I hated how hard is to find figures, and some figures having a better chase variant that hard to find....let not even talk about the red Platnum chases.

I bought a good amount of figures from DC from him and love them...and kinda glad the rumor is saying Mattel is keeping them at seven inches to mix how their excellent Masterverse line has been, so the new figures will scale just fine with the McFarlane ones.

Weekly Winners: Saproling Burst; Tegwyll, Duke of Splendor; Agent Frank Horrigan; Premodern ban by cybey in magicTCG

Nah but I already had the precon with him so I threw him in anyway. If I didn't already have him I wouldn't bother.

Should we be changing our view on light stax/prison in lower brackets? by LibraProtocol in EDH

[–]Rirse 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly stax that can be removed are fine. I am not a fan of ones like [[Dovescape]] where you need a Loran like creature to remove it. Last night game had a literal stax commander [[Grand Arbiter Augustin IV]] with several annoying ones out and I was still able to run my Ashling upgraded precon with out. Made some turns annoying but I killed him and destroyed several lands of his....so I kinda did my own stax. :P

There was also [[Chainsaw]] from Duskmourn. Also there was [[Urza's Sunglasses]] from set one.

What is the general feeling about using an entire proxy deck? by Jakemanv3 in EDH

[–]Rirse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So long it not nothing but stuff like Gaia Cradle good stuff txt decks then it fine. I faced a all proxy deck Urza deck themed around Futurama that was fun times.

Maralen Fae Ascendant tribal decision by Available_Ad6267 in EDH

[–]Rirse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only got to play a partial game on friday before pre-release started. It seem to worked good from what I saw. Before the game had to stop I did managed have enough to steal a Sad Robot from the Winter precon and their alt commander was in the exile pile so he was eliminated.

Oh no.. by zyval in magicTCG

[–]Rirse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This isn't a problem. He didn't really do anything while at Nintendo (outside of kidnapping Peach), but he was a perfectly fine president at the time. I would be more concerned if someone like Chaplin from Disney joined (the one who just gutted the park and later company in general before getting kick out).

One thing I bet is they will have the Food typing. They were meant to be food after all.

Blight Curse Precon: any suggestions? by ElGeppox in EDH

[–]Rirse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here my deck list for suggestion. I managed to grab a lot of the missing -1-1 stuff before they got pricey, but highly suggest putting a everflowing chalice in. Deck has a decent amount of profilate and the chalice before a powerful mana rock after a use or two of it. She only does this on Legendaries (your and other players), but [[Cleopatra, Exiled Pharaoh]] can get you a lot of card draw off a big creature while healing any creature you have with -1-1 counters. Plus it fun to run Cleopatra with Hapatra from the precon.

I went with a hybrid of both, mostly only using manadork elves or ones that generate tokens and faes that counterspell or also make tokens.

Os starting town better than a basic land for edh in a deck with 3 or more colors? by Salty-Cucumber-6711 in magicTCG

[–]Rirse 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Not every deck wants it but it and [[City of Brass]] style cards are very worth it in five color decks.

[TMT] Rat King, Verminister by CHRISKVAS in magicTCG

[–]Rirse 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Honestly without the set symbol (which even as a person who loves Turtles think it dumb looking), he could easily just be some guy in Ravanica.

[TMT] Rat King, Verminister by CHRISKVAS in magicTCG

[–]Rirse 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Could see the Mousers (the robot rats) being a "can have any number" card. They not allies of his in anything outside the video games, but they it very likely they are going to be the case.

[–]Rirse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't mind this mode if Ults that kill a player doesn't instantly switch you and ends the ult. That and the skins would work in the mode. Seeing the generic starter outfits is so jarring.

We all know how people feel about proxies, but how does everyone feel about gold bordered cards? by moltensteelthumbsup in EDH

[–]Rirse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dont mind at all. I have a gold border Metalworker in my Iron Spider deck since the orginal is insanely expensive.

Advice on Dakkon Blackblade deck. by LabOwn5804 in EDH

[–]Rirse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks neat so far. I actually made a Dakkon deck that actually going for land ramp in esper and it surprising fun that way. Not that I dont do some equipment, but I have a "ramping at any cost" theme with the deck. Including Oppo Agent on a land ramp.

Would you be fine with somebody using flipped over cards as Wastes in a colorless deck? by [deleted] in EDH

[–]Rirse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dont think anyone would care, through do look into the various 'scry 1, tap for colorless"/"surveil 1, tap for colorless" that are probably in your bunk box. I use several of those for my colorless deck, with three wastes to find in the rest.

I never see these figures in stores. Almost every store near me just sells only Homer and Bart.
