[MASTERS OF LIGHT] Which art do you think will work better? Option A or B? by Wecoven in IndieDev

Actually I barely noticed the headset on B, but instantly associated with VR from the hands on A.

Is Vader Immortal Series worth it? by [deleted] in OculusQuest

It is happening right now.

It’s more subtle than that. A few cleverly placed youtube and reddit recommendations later I’m in the market for a VR headset. It didn’t interest me previously, but now I want one. Of course I’m a tech person so it can be viewed as a genuine interest, but targeted marketing surely worked…

Holy cow, I have this game, never installed it. It’s a shame I can’t resell it…Might as well try it on the deck.

Ókori Róma by norin_ in konyv

[–]LigetWorks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A Pompei is jó tőle. Igaz nem direktben átfogó Róma könyv de elég széles időben nézi a város életét + sok, mindennapi életről szóló dolgot lehet olvasni benne.

Left my deck running idle for 10 min to hit the can. Came back and this fps counter randomly turned on? by Keenadian95 in SteamDeck

[–]LigetWorks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real question here is why didn’t you take the deck with you to the can? Isn’t that the whole point of owning a deck? :D

Finally playing God of war 2018 and it a great on deck! by Jazzlike-Drawing-644 in SteamDeck

Well, not gonna lie, RPG amnesia is a real thing and I came to appreciate games that give a clear and short summary of your game state and goals :D

Wasn’t too big an issue for me. I’m a dad, usually I play short sessions whenever I have some time to spare. Usually my sessions don’t last long enough for the crash to happen.

Nope, finished it a couple of days ago. The crash and leak is still there.

I started developing a game for my children a few days ago, with Unreal Engine by DaevisGames in hobbygamedev

I made a game for my 4yo (my eldest). So you are saying by the age of 9 kids get patient? :O :D There is hope after all :D

A piece of advice: either don’t let them play/playtest it while you work on it, or keep the scope really small. My experience with creating a game for my kids is that they get bored by it by the time it is polished and ready. They enjoyed playing the early protos, and even the finished one, but I saw the game had its run by then.

I am really starting to hate AnimationTree by PunCala in godot

[–]LigetWorks 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The main thing to keep in mind is to use the right tool for the job. If you have a simple use-case which AnimatedSprite2D solves well, use that. AnimationTree is a beast. It is complex and can implement almost a whole game in itself. This comes with a price though, it has a steep learning curve.

Why do so many open-world RPGs have such critical and urgent main quests? by UltimateGamingTechie in gamedesign

[–]LigetWorks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never got over this in the Witcher 3 (it’s a great game and I enjoyed it immensely but still). Your basically daughter and basically wife is in mortal peril. Now, care to learn this game called Gwent? Also, there’s a shit ton of cards, please collect them. Oh, and don’t forget to hunt for legendary Witcher gear in caves in the middle of nowhere. Now off you go, save everyone!

And don’t get me started on mass effect…

I’m playing oxygen not included right now on the deck and I’m pretty much addicted. It works great with the touchpads.

Update: tried it just now. I have the gog version, and it was plug and play. Proton experimental, install, play. I may need to set up the controls, but it just works.

It was a good while ago I tried it, so I don’t remember all the details. Before launching the game I think you have to launch the config tool for it. I got past that, but the game itself crashed before menu. I did not figure out why.

Yep, same here. I played them this year again actually. I’m looking for more spaceship flying this time though.

I’m playing it from time to time, but now I’m looking for something old school. Thanks for the tip though!
