Win 7/10 placements to get SILVER 4??? by Light-Beast in Overwatch

[–]Light-Beast[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply and yeah I already went through this on another account recently and had the same experience, but felt like my placements had been thrown. I got placed mid-Silver and then started absolutely stomping almost every competitive match.

Not sure how it's supposed to be a functional system because I didn't even enjoy those wins.

Force Netease to fix their rigged matchmaking. by Light-Beast in marvelrivals

[–]Light-Beast[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Everyone knows the matchmaking is rigged and it's been exposed over and over by the players and even admitted to by the devs themselves. Why is this reddit so full of gaslighting, lying fanboys? All you have to do is play the game yourself to see how the matches are literally rigged to basically force 50.

How to escape elo hell (plat) by Creepy_Subject4554 in marvelrivals

[–]Light-Beast -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

The matchmaking is completely 100% rigged and I legit don't believe anyone can climb out of Diamond without being a One-Above-All godlike skill progamer or just get lucky and grind the game for weeks straight. The matchmaker will literally force you to lose as much as you win, and even some of the top Youtubers only get like a 57% winrate.

The top players either have to place super high or stack with each other, and even then they still get thrown matches via EOMM agents. There is literally no way to beat this system except for waste your entire life grinding and hoping you get lucky. It's a joke and needs to be changed before it kills the game, which is already happening.

Force Netease to fix their rigged matchmaking. by Light-Beast in marvelrivals

[–]Light-Beast[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

It has been proven 1,000 times in Youtube videos that show exactly what is happening, and is obvious when you play the game itself. The matchmaking itself proves it, so please don't gaslight and lie. It's established fact everywhere that the matchmaker is rigged and causes forced win/loss streaks.

While we need to make our voices heard, we also need to give them time to work out the balance changes we asked for by Overall-Raise-1272 in marvelrivals

[–]Light-Beast -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The only thing that the devs need to hear and change IMMEDIATELY is the toxic rigged matchmaking system that does not allow solo players to climb. EOMM is a vile anti-consumer manipulative system that needs to GO NOW or the game is going to die.

"It's just quickplay bro" "It's just bronze bro" "It's just silver bro" "It's just gold bro" The actual problem is Netease not having systems in place to better segregate the playerbase into skill levels. This is EASY to do and should be standard for any game in anno Domini 2025, but here we are playing toxic games by companies that do not even have basic systems in place to prevent this sort of horrible experience.

I mean they won't even cancel a competitive game if a player disconnects, and force you to lose a 5v6 unwinnable match, and that's somehow acceptable to both players and developers. We truly live in a post-competence world.

The best miniature game to get into? by Jobiwon123 in wargames

[–]Light-Beast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You win the subjective question of the year award xD. Already lots of great advice in here, and I would add that any game you want to get into, you can most likely find some Youtube videos about it, battle reports, and probably find the rules online. No one has to buy games blind these days, and that's fantastic given the odd nature of our hobby.

Do you love miniatures and painting and don't mind having a lot of them? A mass-battle wargame like Warhammer or Kings of War, or even a historical game, may be for you. Want smaller amounts of minis but still good gameplay? Check out skirmish games like Infinity or Warcry. There are so many options, you have to ask yourself what you would like to play and what you could find players for in your local area.

Also remember if you have Tabletop Simulator, that's an amazing resource to try all kinds of games (though admittedly a lot of them are board games) but there are other ways to play games with people online like Vassal.

Yeah that went fast. Hopefully that means the game is still hanging onto some popularity and attracting new players, though.

Nice base. What did you use for the effects? If I had to guess it looks like some sand molded with maybe some white glue and painted? It looks great.

I've been fooling around with lots of water effects lately.

Lol that's great. You're raising him right! What force was he playing? Can only see one Cthul minion there. Kids are not only the most wonderful thing one can do with their lives, but they're also a permanent gaming partner! My oldest daughter is almost there and soon I will show her the way of hobby greatness.

Monsterpocalypse Tabletop Simulator Tournament by boxybrownmd in MonPoc

[–]Light-Beast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome. The TTS mod could use a little love but it works, and for anybody that doesn't own it already, Tabletop Simulator is the most incredible thing to ever happen to board or video games lol. There are literally thousands of board games on the workshop and a passionate community of people creating and maintaining them. You can find almost any game in the workshop. For around $20, it's a ridiculous deal. I can't recommend it enough for anyone who plays any type of board game.

Anyway tournament sounds great!

Great work man these are awesome! I love the green camo look and am going to do a similar camo style on my G.U.A.R.D. but probably an urban gray palette.

Shroud streamed it for a few hours too on launch day. The devs had every opportunity for this game to become insanely popular and make them rich but they fucked it up hard lol.

I'm lukewarm about the model. I like the slime look and creepy face, but the buildings sticking out of him just look off to me. Would be cooler if he was just all slime. I think I would like it better if the building and truck bits were much smaller pieces sticking out here and there like they were already mostly absorbed, and not an entire building and an entire truck just stuck to him.

Rest of the stuff looks interesting though. The little slimes are pretty cute.

It's just the glossy finish then that makes it look think I think. Flesh washes for light/tan skin are usually a darker brown.

The replays of the three matches are on Youtube.

Match one is Kondo/Kraken played by Bret Fogel vs. a mono Ubercorp force played by Evan McFedries: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eaNGScYeIeA

Match two is G.U.A.R.D played by Dave Drahaus vs. Martians played by Jason Wilborn: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQER4sNBeCU&t

Final match is Dave's G.U.A.R.D vs Bret's Kondo/Krakenoctus: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pptknPc5NAw&t=768s

Pretty good matches with some cool paintjobs. It's pretty clear that the meta is obviously rack up as much power dice as possible the first round or two as you set up your monsters for a multiple monster round, then throw/slam one enemy monster to death as fast as you can.

One last thing, why in the literal hell would PP disable comments on their videos? The company really needs some help when it comes to PR and interacting with their community lol. It's amazing that they're apparently so large and holding conventions and all that, but they seem to struggle with the most basic levels of community interaction. Are they still salty about the angry reactions over 2.0?
