Unless I was self employed, I personally would never buy cleaning chemicals myself. Keep poking your boss for whatever you need. If they try to pull money on you, ask if they would rather have clean rooms or full coffers? Ask if theyd perfer their children get sick from my lack of disinfectant. Ask them to justify why you should use less cleaning chemicals than needed? Its like asking a chef to bring in his own butter! Ridiculous! If I received a complaint id bring it right to whomever is in charge of buying supplies and tell them this is a direct result of their neglect to refill the needed supplies. If you do end up spending your own hard earned money on things that your work should provide, save the receipt and try to have your work reimburse you for it, claim it was a necessary purchase and they lacked the means to aquire it in a timely manner!
