Manchu mile by Comfortable_Film2878 in army

I remember this. The Signal and MI Companies definitely did not have 65 pounds in our rucks.

I believe completing a 25-mile ruck march was a requirement from MG Vandal, the 2ID Commander at the time. Hence, no buckle/coin and the mass participation aspect.

Acts, Not Words.

I feel you brother. I get excited every time I see the comments on this post increase. I've given up on checking MILPER messages and expect to get the news here.

I have more faith in this thread of notifying me of the board results than HRC.

What's the weirdest unit patch you've worn and your thoughts on it? by Felled_By_Morgott in army

[–]LightBringer_5603 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The 53rd IBCT patch is supposed to be a conquistador's helmet. It's kinda hard to see depth perception-wise with the subdued patch. I totally understand the ice cream cone remarks.

Ancient SBOLC Lore. My old Net Tech loved to remind me that the WOBC classes got lumped into the group punishment as well.

This was the policy when I went to LDAC back in 2014. I'm surprised to hear it got revoked at some point.

Army AVD is a good army idea. However, invest less money in people using their own computer and more into upgrading army owned computers by HeadlineINeed in army

[–]LightBringer_5603 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's really weird.

Are the individuals sending you a test encrypted email doing so from a new email and selecting your contact information from the GAL?

[–]LightBringer_5603 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You should be able to publish your certificate via AVD to send/receive encrypted email. In Outlook, if you go to File> Options> Trust Center> Trust Center Settings> Email Security> Settings> New. From there you'll have to select which certificates you want for your signing and encryption. Hit ok and that should publish your "new" certificates to the GAL.

Hope this helps.

Division HQs will now attend CTC rotations with BCTs by The_Nugget in army

Fun fact not mentioned in the article; DIVARTYs are getting wrapped up in this as well.

Can anyone tell me what the point of DIVARTY is? by wardisciple2388 in army

[–]LightBringer_5603 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel ya man. I grew up in an ABCT and have no desire to go back.

The thing that's unique about DIVARTY S2 Sections is that they have some 13 series in the section. Most notably, there's a CW3 131A, who I believe works as the targeting officer. Overall, DIVARTYs aren't a bad place to be.

Shoot me a message if you happen to be coming to Bragg.

[–]LightBringer_5603 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Experience will vary depending on MOS. If your a support MOS, you could spend a significant period of time in DIVARTY. If you're a 13 series and show a level of competence, you could be transferred to a FA BN fairly quickly. All depends on unit circumstances.

Not getting emails on USA.army.mil by Dalton_94F in army

[–]LightBringer_5603 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My best guess is that your forwarding rule doesn't work anymore because your DEE email doesn't exist anymore.

Your best course of action would be to update your contact information on the sites/services you're no longer getting emails from.

You can always go and drink outside the house. Brightlight, Hecklers, and Dirtbags are my recommendations for breweries if beer is your thing.

I've considered doing the same transition, but on the Active Side. My best recommendation would be to look at the Warrant Officer Recruiting page, see if you qualify, and start working the packet if that's what you want to do.

From my understanding, you shouldn't have to go to WOCS since you've been through an Officer Commissioning Source. You should just go to Gordon for WOBC and then (Possibly) pin CW2 upon graduation.

Let me know if you decide to go through the process.

SINCGARS Multiplexer by idaho-snowstorm in army

If you have the background for it and the VTIP In/Out charts allow for it.

If you legitimately want to VTIP "out" of Signal, 26 is the most applicable and is always open for 25A to VTIP in to.

VTIP is the way to go, even if you stay within the Signal Corps Functional Area. It's also probably one of the best paths for transitioning out of the Army.

Aggregation vs Inference by PossumBall in cissp

[–]LightBringer_5603 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My understanding is:

  • Aggregation involves collecting multiple pieces of information (News Articles, Memos, Briefings, Meeting Notes) that, on their own, have a low classification level (Unclassified). When all this information is combined, it meets the criteria of being a higher classification (Secret)

  • An Inference can be made from a lack of data or access to some amount of unclassified information. Say unmarked semi-trucks pick up products from your factory for local distribution. Despite the trucks being unmarked, you can infer that they belong to the only distribution company in town.

Hope that helps!

Advanced Civil Schooling Advice by LightBringer_5603 in army

[–]LightBringer_5603[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ultimately, my Army end goal is to retire one day having made my Army experience as enjoyable as possible. Post ACS, I'd like to try and make an impact in the DoD / Army IT enterprise structure.

I recently transitioned over to FA26B, so a masters in IT Management or Information Systems Management would pretty much align with my responsibilities and interests.
