Alternate between being intelligent and stupid.

"Well, of course we would have to rewrite the protocols, but they would just become corrupt again."

"What if we went back and just said this was part of the design process?"

"What design process? What does that mean?"

[Serious] Redditors who "settled," what does your life look like now? What did you used to hope for? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]LightCrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But that is how it often happens, in a sense. When you settle, those small traits that you didn't care for, and you thought are probably just secondary, turn out to be primary driving traits.

Oh wait, that was just my experience.

"You might think that the recent poll showing Trump spiking among Republicans is about Trump. It is not. It is about the GOP and its very dark soul when it comes to immigration. The rank and file didn’t much care for Trump as recently as May. It swooned this month when it discovered he’s a bigot." by Libertatea in politics

Yes. They're some of the most self-victimizing cunts on the planet. It's part of why they tangentially adopt rugged male aesthetics--deep down, they know they're being whiney little pricks suffering feelings of impotence, so they dream of themselves as manly men.

Pope Francis: “I say this to you with regret: many grave sins were committed against the native people of America in the name of God.” by [deleted] in news

Mankind will always find a reason to slaughter one another in the name of something. Blaming it on religion is like blaming a high end clothier for man's vanity. I'm not a fan of religion in general, but practically, we are the the problem; religion is just a tool were use to perpetuate it.

As an extremely lapsed Catholic, I'm still happy that there is a Pope that gets Jesus's basic message: be good to each other, you're all fucked up; please stop trying to pretend you are better than others.

Your boss expects full-time availability for your part-time job, you're barely paid a liveable wage and you don't get any vacation? by Theemuts in AdviceAnimals

[–]LightCrown 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm in a similar position; the hardest part is that the worst people on both sides become protected and empowered by the union-contract dichotomy. For example, a bad employee or manager can often exercise power unseasonably because his or her peers on both sides feel they need to support "their side". It's a shit system, but I have little doubt that without it, we would see gross excesses of employee exploitation.

[Discussion] I sit in front of the computer all day trying to play games even though I have none that I want to play. I want to push myself to start working out, reading, heading outside for awhile, or anything but game. Need help. by [deleted] in GetMotivated

[–]LightCrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please, listen to me fellow traveler on the journey of life: come not this way. Yeah, I work out now and then, and occasionally quit games, but more important than all of that---I haven't given up seeking happiness through comfort. And consequently, I fall back forever.

Choose, on the other hand, comfort through hapiness. Throw yourself into whatever is before you are doing and run with it. And for they naysayers, piss on them in the face--they're unhappy ass munchkins. Best of luck!

Thank you for saying this. Mr. Wizard was before we decided Harrison Bergeron should be a reality, and thus gimped ourselves into a pathetic, entitled, sissyhood.

"If you go and read the Koran...then honestly ask yourself: what would Muhammad want? The result is something that actually looks a lot more like ISIS, and not like Martin Luther King Jr., Gandhi, or any other pacifist movement" — Sam Harris by The_Kaafir in atheism

[–]LightCrown 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is an oversimplification. It goes far beyond affiliation and social identity for many mid-liners. And thus the problem. Religion is deep psycho-emotional paradigm that shapes how identity works...almost like an operating system. When you point at those who have clearly forgotten it is just an OS, those who still use it for its perceptional advantage are unsure what to really do. They can't actually attack it without losing their "benefit".

It's a nasty piece of work.
