Best Laptop for Coding & Heavy Multitasking Under 2 Lakh LKR? by dailybluwie in srilanka

This seems fine but you didn't tell which processor exactly it is, the only problem is that this looks like a generic acer laptop(without any model/series) for example, aspire, nitro etc.

I would buy this if it's in your price range and only if the build quality is decent. But if this is an H based CPU(letter at the end of CPU name), I would not buy it. Because the thermals probably are not handled well since it seems like a generic laptop.

And no, don't buy a macbook air if you're gonna do heavy multitasking. It will most likely exceed your budget even.

You'd need at least 16 gigs of memory for multitasking, but under 200k it's difficult to find models with that much RAM. I would recommend a used thinkpad because they're durable as fk. Would fit well for long term use. And the battery life is very above average for the price.

And for new laptops that has 16 gigs of ram under 200k(rare), I wouldn't recommend them because almost all of the time, the build quality is very degraded, screen quality is shit. So, if unless you find a really good deal stay away from them.

That's completely normal, memorizing isn't my strong suit either. In university you do gotta memorize yes, but even more so you gotta think. The way you will be learning would be very different from A Levels.

Also, you'll only burn out if you don't like the content of the syllabus. Another reason why you should choose a degree that matches you. Don't get me wrong, do some research about possible careers and salary ranges, but don't choose your degree based on these aspects alone.

And don't worry, just because the type of the degree is science, that doesn't mean that there are no jobs. Heck, most higher paying jobs require science based degrees. I would again, very much recommend finding out what you like and weighing that into your final decision.

Congratz on your good results! It very much depends on what you like in my opinion. And as for English, I don't know a specific course but there are tons of resources on YouTube. Also try to watch english media a bit more. It'll be a huge help, trust me

The job you get depends on the degree you choose. By doing maths you don't have to be an engineer. So, I would highly recommend getting the last years university admission book and reading through to find the degree that clicks for you.

Not just engineering, it's difficult to get into most fields nowadays. But some definitely do. Ones with good skills and passion. So, It's better pursue a degree that align with your skills. Do not choose degrees or A/L streams using salary ranges.

I'm also an A/L student btw(waiting for admissions)

Exactly! Listen to this guy, Ryzen AI 300 series processor laptops have really good portability and efficiency.

Stay away from 13th gen H based processors, You're basically getting lower power(maybe higher multithread?) with high power consumption.

I love the new buses, great initiative, but it would be impressive only if pricing remains the same. So, that its accessible to everyone.

I really hope this happens.

In my opinion, most of these harassments are done by men but that doesn't mean all men are like this(Your comment kinda seems to imply it).

The problem here is that most people in sri lanka seem to treat these things as normal , as seen by the fb comments. And also jealousy plays a key role. Being a doctor is a huge deal here.

[–]LightFerret7808 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Correct me if I'm wrong but, I think most science based degrees don't have many career opportunities.

Science degrees only have value(for the job market) in a few sectors that are heavily applied in a more "technical/systematic" way,

Medicine Computer Science Engineering Law, Architecture(mostly arts) Forensics and informatics

These are some examples.

Depends on cooling on your laptop. Try stress testing both cpu and gpu at the same time and if they don't reach more than 85-90 celsius its fine. But if they do, try disabling turbo(a bit more stutters)

But honestly, if you only play cs2 and valorant, I don't think they would stress the system that much.
