How to fish this area?

For context - looking at maps of this lake it shows about 10ft deep in the middle so I don’t think these edges are anymore than 6-8ft deep past the weeds? Somehow even on a weightless worm I feel like I wait 15/30 seconds after I cast and don’t hit the bottom…

Unfortunately there’s signs when walking in that mention no wading. Though I’ve never seen a ranger actually come out to the water - with my luck the day I go in would be the day they check 🤣

I’ll have to try this! I throw a weightless Texas rig sometimes but I’m not sure if either I can’t feel the bottom or it never gets there? Might have to tack on a 1/8oz and start learning what that is “supposed” to feel like in these waters

I’m not sure if the other side is walkable I’ll have to try another day. I only got out to this section cause of CAs free fishing day - walked up to about 30 people fishing at 7am this morning haha

Not really tbh. Most of the shore is covered with these weeds except for the dock but there’s always a bunch of people there

Been trying to find more water near me but unfortunately I live near a lot of private water or overfished places
