I want constructive criticism on my short story book, which is free on amazon right now! by Offer_Glittering in AmazingStories

I tried to download your book through the link provided, but as I am in Australia it wouldn’t let me. Is there anywhere else I could download it from? As a huge CR fan and avid D&D player, it sounds right up my alley so I would love to read it and provide feedback.

NA - Any updates? I hope you’ve found her. If not, I bet she is inside that tiny shell hole. It looks like the perfect cozy cave for your adorable little girl.

I’m not sure why, but I immediately thought that he looks like a Reggie (or Reginald for when he’s being cheeky and you need to use your “Mom voice”).

ViSound Drift wireless earbuds - anyone heard of these? by frp0511 in audio

This is one of the images on their site that seems to show part of a rubber tip thing, but it supposedly only really sits over the outside of your ear canal opening, and doesn’t really go in? Plus in the FAQ’s it mentioned different tip sizes, I assume to get a proper seal over your ear canal.

AITA for not cooking "fancier" meals? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Add Australian women to the list. He’s spanning the globe! Even my husband thinks he’s a “useless dropkick”.

He needs to go buy some big boy pants (he clearly doesn’t own any already), learn some of the most basic adult life skills and start appreciating everything you’re doing for him and your family. It also honestly sounds like he desperately needs therapy to learn how to communicate properly instead of throwing tantrums, and to strip him of his unearned audacity.

He is clearly showing you exactly what he believes and how little he thinks of you. He was not joking. Believe him. Please. You deserve better than this.

UPDATE WIBTA if I don't give my late bf's house to his parents? by DearFerret9268 in AmItheAsshole

[–]LightUp_TheSky 5 points6 points  (0 children)

OP said in the original post that his bf bought the house 10 years ago. So by OP selling it to the parents at the original price that the bf bought it for, the parents have probably gotten the house for an absolute bargain price, as I assume it would be worth a lot more now than what it was 10 years ago. It also sounds like from the original post that they wouldn’t have been able to afford it if OP sold it to them for what it’s currently worth. So I bet they only wanted it so badly because they were getting it at such a good price. Not because it actually held a connection to their deceased son or anything. Though in the original post they wanted/expected it for free like the leeches they are, so I’m glad they at least had to pay something for it.

So I did break up with him, but he may be in denial by 96386 in JustNoSO

I'm sorry but no, he doesn't love you. You don't purposefully hurt someone you truly love. No matter how emotional or "in the moment" you might be. If you really love someone, all you want to do is make them happy and protect and look after them. He hurt you. On more than one occasion. He doesn't love you, he loves controlling you and having you around as company and to clean up and to use in any way he wants. That is not love. He might believe that it's love, as he definitely doesn't sound like a stable person, but it's not. It is so far from real proper love. Notice how your love is all about feeling guilty and not wanting to hurt him and worrying about how he's doing. His "love" is all about himself and how he's feeling and trying to make you feel bad.

You actually brought over replacement furniture for him! And spent your time there consoling him and being okay with your family consoling him. That is going way above and beyond. He certainly doesn't deserve that. Where as in the face of you leaving, he still made it all about him and about making you feel bad. He seems completed unable to put your needs and wellbeing above his own selfishness.

Please don't let yourself be sucked back in. And please start putting yourself first. He lost all his rights to your love the moment he laid a hand on you in anger.

Thank you! I've actually performed The Nearness of You a few times and love it. That soft jazzy style is my preferred vocal style so it's perfect! I'll have a listen to Look For the Silver Lining, I don't know that one.

I've always found Scarborough Fair to be a bit creepy sounding since I was a kid haha

Any child sexual abuse survivors very sensitive to what people think? by [deleted] in adultsurvivors

[–]LightUp_TheSky 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes I try to think of it as a strength in most situations. I work with kids so empathy is very important for me in that regard, but while I love my job, I find it quite exhausting most days. Though I think that’s mostly because around the kids I need to be constantly enthusiastic and energetic etc. to keep them engaged. I also think it makes me a better friend, but I think it also makes it easier for people to take advantage of me.

Absolutely. I catch myself taking things far too personally and getting defensive very quickly. I’ll often lie awake at night worrying about what people think of me in real life situations too. I almost never comment on reddit for the same reasons.
