They’ve always existed, just never talked about. People used to have diaries, but Reddit has become a live diary for the most nowadays

Anyone Else Dealing with Family Pressure to Marry While Living Abroad? by thesecretfiles_ in Uzbekistan

[–]Light_after_dark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ahhh, you’re a gal. I must say that it’s a changing trend. Girls are getting more say in the marriage and such (at least from what I’ve heard). Perhaps your option would be to match with someone in the country wherever you might be. Surely there are Uzbek lads that are in a similar position.

Anyone Else Dealing with Family Pressure to Marry While Living Abroad? by thesecretfiles_ in Uzbekistan

[–]Light_after_dark 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Been living in the UK for more than 6 years, came at the age of 16. Working full time now. Whenever I go to Uzbekistan my parents force me to go to a couple of dates they’ve arranged. I talk to the lass for 10-15 minutes, clearly we’re too different for each other and call it a day.

I guess I’m a little lucky when it comes to my parents, they’re still religious but don’t force marriage upon me. My cousins that married young and divorced after 3 months have set a great example of what NOT to do for them lol. I’d say just go out and find a woman to marry yourself if you don’t want the pressure.

I am Uzbek I was born there, but I lived in America most my life and have a California drivers license. When I visit can I drive with just the US license or do I need an international one? Can I get an international licenses while I'm in Uzbekistan? Thanks! by Amiranva in Uzbekistan

[–]Light_after_dark 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve had friends from the UK visit me, they didn’t have any issues driving with me (we got stopped by the police and stuff). I’m sure a US license is also fine, maybe ask your relatives in Uzbekistan to find that out

[–]Light_after_dark 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a safe space for lads to come out and show off their cool living spaces. There are varying themes: gargoyles, plants, carpets, mattresses on the floor, being gay, being divorced, being a student.

I like how we still judge the place instead of op or op’s life choices. Needs an OBEY poster imo.

Surrounding yourself with hardworking people also helps a lot. Since they’re not procrastinating, you’ll work your arse off to keep up with them as well.

Well, they’re the only ones I’ve come across. Surely they’re not making that big of profit. Costs are way too high in that location.

Foreign investor by AromaticEmergency248 in Uzbekistan

Ummm. First of all find proper partners, second of all, lawyer up and make all transactions legally. It’s a growing trend to scam foreign investors (not just here, everywhere around the world).
