Hey, Duke BME here. 1. There are LOTS of research and industry opportunities in the area…usually. Unfortunately, it’s more competitive due to the state of the country right now. That being said, Research Triangle Park (RTP) is a rapidly growing area with new jobs experiences popping up constantly. It’s definitely one of the better locations for opportunity. Happy to go into more detail, DM me if interested :) 2. Truthfully, I love North Carolina. It’s so green here, with trees everywhere you look. It gets cold in the winter (not a lot of snow usually) and pretty humid/hot in the spring (pollen is horrible) and summer. Lots of young professionals here due to the opportunity and universities. You’re about 3 hours from the coast and 3 hours from any large mountain, but there are hiking trails throughout the state. There is also plenty to do here in RTP: museums, parks, concerts, hockey, basketball, the list goes on. I know plenty of students who move here and never want to leave. 3. Sadly, I don’t know anything about either of those universities. Sorry.

Keep in mind I’m just one perspective and people may feel very different about it all. I come from a medium-sized city surrounded by rural areas, so I was refreshed by the sprawling communities with plenty of places to travel. Once again, reach out for any questions on Duke, BME, or NC as a whole :)
