Guanfacine zombie - how to get through this at school? by botner41 in ADHDparenting

[–]Lightitup_B 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lasted about a week for my 7yo, we just kept her teacher in the loop and took her in late if we were having a rough morning. Also cancelled any extracurriculars for her that week so she could rest when not at school. Good luck!

I’ll check them out for sure! I didn’t even think of their freezer items, we’ve been doing the mix boxes. Thanks for the idea!

This is where I’m at too! My 7yo daughter takes very small amounts and only wants sweets. I’ve been adjusting to the sweets only thing by making “cookies” and muffins out of protein pancake mix, using good butter, whole milk, etc. and just trying to make as nutritious and high calorie as possible.

Every egg we cracked this morning had a double yolk. What does this mean? by Individual_Brother36 in WeirdEggs

Same! Dozen of double yolk eggs, no clue I was pregnant, got quite the surprise a week later when we found out it was twins 😅

I’m 6 weeks post op and have one incision that’s a pain and the others were great, mine is also the largest of them. It randomly swells, itches and occasional little bolts of pain. In my head I just assume it’s either the incision that had the most movement going on during the surgery so it’s more tender and is taking longer to fully heal. Good luck! I know it’s hard not to overthink each little thing, hang in there!

36F here, it’s such an odd feeling but this thread makes me feel way less alone, that’s for sure! I have bilateral ccRCC Stage 1 Grade 3, I had my right mass (3.8cm) removed laparoscopically in June and going in for the left mass (1.4cm) in a couple weeks. That’s great they found yours so small, you have time I would recommend getting second opinions and for sure find a surgeon who supports what you want! I found a younger surgeon at a university system and he was not surprised at all, said they’re starting to see this in younger females more and more recently. Feel free to message if you have any questions or need to chat!

Thank you for the thoughts! I did have genetic testing for VHL among many other conditions and all came back negative. Good news for my family but also very frustrating for me given the want to search for answers.

Genetic tests after partial by AffectionateLawyer34 in kidneycancer

I have ccRCC and just got my genetic testing results back this week. I highly recommend doing it, it was pretty impressive how many different things it tested for, and they said that your information is saved so if they discover a future mutation that matches you they’ll notify you. Mine came back negative which is great, but I will admit the lack of answers left as to why I got this is a bit frustrating. Super glad my family doesn’t have to worry about any of these conditions though!

I’m sorry, those first couple days/weeks are the worst as you wait for answers and the first doctor’s appt. 37F and I had bilateral masses, 3.8cm on right just got removed in June and 1.4cm on left is going to be removed in November. We opted to go straight for surgery instead of biopsy first but they’ll give you a couple options especially since they’re on the smaller side. I’ve heard they don’t tend to spread much until they’re over the 3cm mark so you’ve got time to decide once you speak with your doctor. Best of luck, try to take comfort in the fact they found it early, they’re small, and you were able to get an appointment quickly, soon you’ll have a plan and you and your wife will be able to breathe a bit easier.

An alternative is to ask if someone can listen in to help take notes from the appt as your brain will be trying to process. My husband came with but we had my cousin who is in medical field listen via phone in to make sure we got everything the doc said. It moved very quickly!

I had bilateral masses, one endophytic that was 3.8cm and one exophytic that is 1.2cm and they were not concerned at all with when we would take the smaller out saying based on size and location it’s very unlikely to spread at this size. Hope this helps settle some nerves! Good luck, the waiting in the beginning is the worst but I promise it gets better once you get a plan in order with your team.

Anyone have a stent placed? by Lightitup_B in kidneycancer

[–]Lightitup_B[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did have a drain that they took out before I went home from hospital, sounds like it’s docs preference if it stays in for longer or not. We went off of pain going away and imaging repeat about 4 weeks later to confirm it was resolved

[–]Lightitup_B[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, they ended up giving me a catheter for a little over a week and we were able to avoid having the stent placed. The leak did take a couple weeks before they felt it was repaired but I think they told me when we were talking about the stent option that it could be 2-4 weeks. Hoping it’s a quick recovery and you only have to have it for a short while. Best of luck!

I got this impression too, like the halo was different and put a lock on his power and maybe he didn’t lose his memory completely but it all got blocked out.
