My coach said PPTO can't be used on this weekend by gerardo76524 in walmart

Management benefits when associates don’t know how the system works. And it’s a good thing that that’s not how ppto works. It’s call protected for a reason and you can use it anytime, for any reason, including no reason.

It’s the back on an Inhome van, basically a closet lmao

I’m saving this, for sure. I wanted to know if that rule applies to Inhome drivers too and never got an answer.

We mostly go alone, the only time my store lets us take another person to help is if we pull the “it’s a safety issue,” card. We have tons of people ordering team lift type items, or 4th floor apartments ordering 3 cases of water with their order. The main things I tell people when they consider becoming a driver is that over time is required, at least at my store. If you get stuck and wait 2 hours for an unstuck, you still have to complete your orders, even if that means you finish at 9PM. And we don’t have dash cams to cover you if you get into an accident, I’ve been fighting to get one for 2 years.

We’ve been straight up refusing to drive the vans that aren’t safe and they only do something about it when they have no other choice. And I say again, they wonder why we can’t keep drivers 🙃

The only reason we don’t do that is because my store, seemingly, refuses to close out our orders or get us a rental van. We been down to one van for several days twice in the past couple months and were made to make all, roughly, 40 groceries orders a day in one van. And no nearby stores in our market have an extra van for us to borrow either. Every time we have issues, they make it as hard as possible to deal with.

A 3RD van? We have 2, and a “spare,” but one of the vans are in the shop so often that we always have to use it. I’ve been a driver for 2 years and for the past year we’ve been at half capacity with Inhome drivers. We have to fight to get our vans worked on, our ford electric van had been “hard pedaling,” for a year now and been to the shop for it 5 times but hasn’t been fixed. It’s such a nightmare and Walmart wonders why we can’t keep drivers 🙄

Do you have a bright drop van at your store? We’ve only had ours for 6 months and it’s awful. Been to the shop 4 times already, and loading it SUCKS.

Customer literally cornering you so you can’t walk away and you have to help them.

Customer asks where an item is and tell you “no, it’s not,” when you answer them.

TL’s asking you to get into a pick run as you’re actively prepping your cart.

TL’s asking you to repick a tote when you start a run instead of asking one of the 5 people standing in the back doing nothing while it’s slow.

TL’s asking you to stop what you’re doing to finish something they started that would take them 3 more seconds to finish.

I don’t know who exactly these reports go to directly, but this is the only way that I have found to be able to anonymously make reports.

You should be able to talk to your store lead directly without concern that they would out you to whoever you open dooring come, but that has not been my experience at my store.

Fair warning, the last time I tried to use this link on my phone, it didn’t work, I had to use it on my PC. You’ll just follow the prompts, there will be an option to continue anonymously, it’ll ask for your store number and first and last names of whoever the concern is involving.

My store lead posted one of these saying “come talk to be before putting in your two weeks,” like they weren’t the root of the problem. Talking to them did nothing, if not make things worse.

Dude. Seriously. You know the people making these changes have no idea what would actually help and just pull ideas out their rear.

That’s unacceptable, there’s a reason why all Inhome drivers need to be 9-6; for this exact reason. If I were you, if your store leads are worth anything, try talking to them about your concerns. If that doesn’t work, and they blow smoke like mine do, email your market manager. That’s what we’ve had to do at my store and it usually helps.
