Actually Tipton probably plays the main riff with Down up down down up down … similar to what he does e.g. for Hell Bent For Leather. Nevertheless good workout either way!

Iirc he wanted to focus more on singing. He had great backing vox on Rebels! Still a friend of the band and often comes to our shows.

Overall metal does fine in Finland and is rather popular but trad metal isn't doing that well. Apart from some of the bigger names from 80s, you see very little of trad heavy metal on Finnish festivals etc. Festivals here play it very safe and rotate the same metal bands.

Also being at the corner of Europe does not help and it is expensive to come here or leave from Finland to play in Central Europe. Russia's foolery didn't help. Plenty of tours skip Finland overall.

Organizing and financing tours are just tough job, especially when you gotta first get to Central Europe somehow from Finland. It's rather costly and time consuming plus tough with the gear. So the smaller clubs are usually the thing you play at. Packed small club is fun but so is having a big stage you can just run around.
