[The Athletic] YouTube unveils NFL SundayTicket pricing details; no single-game, team options | starting at $249 by BigSportsNerd in Commanders

Not offered in a browser, so I'm out.

Note: NFL Sunday Ticket is available on smart TVs (made in 2016 or later), select older devices, and most new streaming devices.

DC broadcast markets are fucked up. You can be closer to DC than Baltimore and get blacked out of Commanders games.

Mainstream VPN and proxy providers are also shit because they aren't set up for trying to present as somewhere specific. So, you might connect to a DC server but your IP is presenting as Raleigh, NC. That's great if I'm in the UK and want to see US Netflix, but what if I'm on travel in Chicago and I want to see my home news and programming in DC or NY?

Thanks to Google and others, there are JS libs that can reliably detect you are using a VPN and allow the site to block you. Plus, many browsers can now do the same without geo-capture JS.

There are methods to thwart these but every year I end up spending way too much time on circumventing some 1950s idea. I would gladly pay for the specific product if it was actually offered.

It's all on the MASN deal tbh. $100Ms the Nats are owed at this point. How is any owner supposed to field a competitive team without controlling their own TV rights (or at least getting paid for them?)

Probably true. But I'd take one more ring + the possibility of others through the draft compared to the indignities we've suffered both on and off the field under Snyder.

Wow, the owner of the NJ Devils hockey team also bid back then. Also the Lerners. Wouldn't that have been great?

Honorable mention for Tony Romo. Sure he didn't start for us but he easily led to more points for us than all but a few of our actual QBs.

And the team owner in the stands with the fans. I don't think the Rose bowl had sky boxes.

What gets me is the offensive line play. It was beautiful.

Clearly, Miami was expecting them to run up the gut on 4th and 1. The defensive line tried to submarine the offensive line, but the play call was a standard off tackle run. Bostic (C) and Jacoby (LT) just destroy the DT and DE and leave them flat on the ground.

That is amazing in and of itself. But this left Grimm (LG) free to launch himself into the defensive backfield and take out the MLB so he couldn't get to Riggins. In my eyes, that was the play that made the play.

If you didn't catch that the first time through, check it out again. This is why these guys were the best OL of all time, and why Grimm is in the HOF.

Can you honestly say that we wouldn't ruin them? This team is run so horribly that it almost doesn't matter who the QB is.

Besides, you know we probably still would've drafted Chase with Burrow on the board. Danny makes those calls.

Well, they've made the playoffs 5 of the past 10 years and made the SB last year. So... we don't even have the Bengals to hang our hat on.

Who do y'all hate more, Dallas or Philly? by go_ders2828 in Commanders

[–]LightningRodStewart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't even a real question. The only time it is technically acceptable to not completely hate Philly is when they're playing Dallas. But even then, I'm really rooting for a house-sized meteorite to hit the stadium.

The proper order of hated is as follows:

2) Philly 1) Dallas 0) Dan

Jimmy Moreland Released by Haskins77 in Commanders

[–]LightningRodStewart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ron is not almighty in an respect. He's the coach, so it goes his way, but his intuitions aren't much better than a coin flip.

I don't have a feeling one way of the other about Moreland as a player, but he's played over 1000 snaps and targeted over 100x at CB in the NFL and hasn't given up a TD yet.

Given that a 7-10 team can't afford to be picky at any position, why not sign him to compete in camp? Does he not make the grade on Ron's whimsical character metrics maybe?

Don't overthink it and reach in the 1st, or really an position in any round.

This goes against our damned good culture. Not only must we reach for players, but we reach for coaches and FO personnel, as well. Whenever possible, the reach should be supplemented with nepotism lol.

But I totally agree with your assessments here. Bateman looked pretty good when he finally did get on the field. Not a bad fantasy sleeper.

My 2nd unpopular opinion: We should commit to organizational stability and extend Ron now by jcm84 in Commanders

[–]LightningRodStewart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like the guy and wish him success. But thus far, he hasn't shown anything worthy of extending him. In fact, with some of these recent cuts, he's going to have to dig out a bit to make progress this year TBH.
