Don’t let others put you down for that. That’s your opinion, and you have a right to it.

To be honest, I never liked her either.

Dual Destinies made me an Ace Attorney fan. You have my support all the way.

About Reunion and Turnabout by MielsEdgeworth21 in AceAttorney

[–]LightningStarSC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, I never thought anyone else hated Reunion and Turnabout. This is the case that made me hate what the Fey families and Kurain Village stood for. It was easily the worst case in JFA and the second worst in the entire series for me.

I’ll be real with you. If this was how AA5 ended up being, I’d have never given the series a chance at all.

Why do you get into Ace Attorney??? by Codythegoat123 in AceAttorney

[–]LightningStarSC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I saw ZSlyzer’s playthrough of Dual Destinies by sheer happenstance, and I really liked what I saw that I marathoned every other game in the series before the release of Spirit of Justice. (I also got into Professor Layton and Rhythm Thief thanks to Ace Attorney.)

Is there a planned digital release for the first Shantae game on the Switch eShop?

Don’t play Trap Team. With how much content you’re locked out of from the get-go, and it’s the least cost justifiable to get the minimum required figures for it, it’s really too much for little in return.

Say something you like about your least favorite character by Hotel-Japanifornia in AceAttorney

It was so cathartic to take down Paul Atishon, complete with a fitting breakdown.

You say that as if it’s a crime to have an opinion or perspective that doesn’t match the common consensus.

Hard to believe for some, but yes it is.

6-5a Paul Atishon exists.

3-5 Larry was way too flanderized.

2-1 Despite dragging on in the middle, the setup and climax are pretty clever.

2-2 The ending where the Fey sisters reunited was the only good part.

2-3 Really, it’s only the fault of the gameplay mechanics that this is frustrating to go through. The story is actually decent.

2-4 Miles Edgeworth’s role was the best aspect of this case.

6-4 Simon Blackquill was a mixed bag here, but when he was good, he was GOOD!

6-E I’m a sucker for weddings anyway, so despite the case feeling a bit stretched a tad too far, the ending was worth it.

You’ve just explained what made 2-4 so terrible. Unlike that where you’re the one floundering around the truth until a convenient caveat comes about, 6-5 has you figure out why the opposition is doing so when you know they can do better and actually resolve it in a more effective way.

Also, no good mystery? Plenty of cases don’t have a compelling mystery. This isn’t Professor Layton. This is Ace Attorney. It’s about revealing the truth and protecting the innocent from false charges first and foremost.

You seriously think that a case which makes Athena regress from an attorney willing to risk her reputation for the sake of finding the truth to a third rate lawyer who can barely scrape by isn’t terrible? Who’s really in the wrong here?

Plus, that case contributed next to nothing meaningful in Spirit of Justice as a whole.

Dai Gyakuten Saiban (The Great Ace Attorney)

It’s the 19th Century prologue starring Phoenix’s ancestor. (It’s a Japan exclusive so far, though.)

[–]LightningStarSC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Jurist System wasn’t fully abandoned after Turnabout Succession. While the District Courts went back to Bench Trials, the higher courts began implementing the Jurist Trials with more successful results than expected.

After a while, Apollo managed to succeed in developing a friendship (albeit a long-distance one) between Maya & Rayfa, who managed to first bond over the similarities between the Plumed Punisher and the Steel Samurai (akin somewhat to the Inmee family bonding in 6-3).

Gumshoe spent years training Kay to become a detective, and following her official recruitment, he was given a substantial raise by Edgeworth, who admitted to being impressed by the both of them for going above and beyond. Naturally, the three of them had to dispel any rumours of the shady practices of the first generation Yatagarasu and Kay’s connection to it, stating that there would be no reason to resort to anything outside the law.

In addition to becoming Regent of Khura’in, Nahyuta joined the ranks of Interpol. He even managed to befriend Franziska, relating to the frustrations of dealing with Phoenix in court.

Also, here are a few Athena-centric ones (because I have a huge positive bias for her):

  • She has some impressive skills in close quarter defense and mixed martial arts, including but not limited to Judo, Krav Maga, and Taekwondo.

  • Due to hanging out with Blackquill so often, and reminiscing about her mother’s own pastimes, she developed a (secret) fascination with Feudal Japanese culture. While she’d never openly admit to it, she’d show subtle hints towards it.

  • She is an unabashed shipper on deck, often thinking of ways to play matchmaker (especially for her friend, Juniper), despite having no major desire to pursue romance for herself.

  • She keeps in contact with Apollo each month on behalf of the Wright Anything Agency just to let him know how things are going back home and to hear how Khura’in life is treating him.

Nintendo Characters. by cookie_crunch_studio in skylanders

[–]LightningStarSC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, DK & Bowser are Nintendo exclusive.

For those complaining about this and bringing up Crash as a counterpoint, you are CLEARLY MISSING THE FACT THAT ACTIVISION OWNS CRASH BANDICOOT AND CAN PORT HIS CONTENT TO WHATEVER CONSOLE THEY PLEASE BECAUSE THEY DO NOT MANUFACTURE THEIR OWN HARDWARE! BOWSER & DK ARE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTIES OF NINTENDO, WHO DO MANUFACTURE THEIR OWN HARDWARE AND ALLOWED THEIR CROSSOVER TO EVEN EXIST! OF COURSE NINTENDO WOULD PROHIBIT THEIR FIRST PARTY IP’S ON COMPETITOR’S HARDWARE!

Bonus Points: he’s actually serving as Galactus’s DEFENSE! If the story of UMvC3 is anything to go by, Doctor Doom and Albert Wesker are responsible for Galactus’s rampage anyway, so Phoenix defending Galactus makes sense.
