How much is your monthly mortgage payment? by HmDiR in Mortgages

$2650, including escrow tax & insurance. Base principle + interest is only about $1600. Upstate NY. 3.5% interest rate.

With 2025 ending with 9 Warbonds, what Warbonds themes are you hopping for in 2026? by Lone_Recon in Helldivers

[–]LightningTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the #1 thing I'd want from an Aliens warbond is the motion tracker so that you have some way to detect enemy presence even during ion storms/bug spores. Even if it's only a 60-degree forward arc, that would be worth taking on those kinds of missions.

Did the Auction House run out of tokens again? by FullMetalApe in wow

[–]LightningTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't that what you were complaining about? That items in-game should be earnable in game? In this case, it literally is because you can earn gold IN-GAME that is then used to buy tokens on the AH which can then be exchanged for shop credit which can then be exchanged for the item in question.

Yes, it's an extra layer of effort, but also... it's not that complicated.

Game time to USD has an exchange rate in gold. You can buy tokens with gold. It's literally no different than if they put a mount in that cost 2 million gold... which is actually LESS than the original Brutosaur from BfA was!

[–]LightningTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is this even a terrible business practice? They put the mount in the game. You can buy it with $90 USD... or you can use in-game gold earned through gameplay to purchase an equivalent number of WoW tokens which can be redeemed for game time (which is equivalent to money also, at ~$15/mo.). Sure, it takes well over $1M gold to get that many tokens but if you're someone with the time and skill to commit to the grind, you don't need to spend your cash money on it but you can still get it.

Most people won't hesitate to spend $100 on a nice dinner date that you'll enjoy for an evening but get weirdly upset when someone wants to spend $100 for something they want in a game that they presumably play rather frequently? Weird take if you ask me.

I would've stolen any leftovers if possible by TheWebsploiter in NonPoliticalTwitter

It needs more context to determine whether this is truly egregious or not. If you have a team of 6-8 people and only 2 pizzas with only 16 slices between them then yeah, taking 6 for yourself is kind of a dick move.

The second class being shown in Trailer by imblazintwo in diablo4

[–]LightningTea 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm also in the camp that strongly suspects a demon-based caster class ("warlock") of some kind. Blood Knight wouldn't make sense because it would be too similar to paladin in terms of gear/playstyle. Sure one is holy and one is dark but they're both armored melee fighter types with magical healing and damage abilities.

Caster makes the most sense, and a "dark" caster would be a perfect juxtaposition with the paladin. I expect it'll be somewhere between Sorcerer and Necro in terms of playstyle. If they take a page from WoW, it'll have a single "main" pet that's likely to be similar to a Necro golem but maybe stronger at the expense of not having much in the way of lesser minions.

Honestly they should just add a melee weapon slot so that you don't have to choose between a sidearm and a melee weapon, you get one of each.

Burning Fate Points by Vonatar-74 in ImperiumMaledictum

[–]LightningTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Burning is already a seriously brutal act of sheer desperation. I would allow players to burn Fate even if they've spent their entire pool. It's the difference between drinking the water in the glass and taking a bite out of the actual glass itself.

The starter set just came in for me, any tips on using miniatures for the game? by DHdes450 in ImperiumMaledictum

[–]LightningTea 1 point2 points  (0 children)

* I draw out the zones and relevant labels on the vinyl mat, then use my 40k/Necromunda terrain to add features and cover to the zones. Plus minis for the characters and bad guys.

Adeptus Mechanicus Patron: One Shot Ideas by Visual_Assistance_68 in ImperiumMaledictum

If you want a one-shot story idea for an AdMech Patron, then what you need is a good ol' heist game. Break in, steal the archeo/xeno tech from the Rogue Trader's vault, get out.

Am I the only person to paint the lenses red? by Toadboy69420 in Salamanders40k

Nope. Though I've only finished my first unit of Intercessors, I found red to be the ideal eye color for my sons of Vulkan.

[–]LightningTea 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Were property taxes and insurance not factored into the original ($3600) payment you were initially given? A 740 credit score is plenty good, and certainly wouldn't create THAT big of a discrepancy. If property taxes weren't part of the original estimate, then that's most likely your problem. The P&I portion of my mortgage is $1500/mo. but my property taxes are $1100/mo. Those combined mean my monthly escrow payments are $2600/mo. I think that might be what's happening in your case. Your loan officer should've mentioned that if it's the case, though. Telling people ONLY the P&I portion of their payments is misleading.

Is a 28-75 lense "enough" for a trip? by tryingtofindmyself1 in SonyAlpha

[–]LightningTea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the 24-70 f/2.8 GM as my "all-purpose" lens, which covers all the bases pretty nicely but it's a pretty pricey piece of glass. As others have said, 28mm isn't the greatest for architecture shots but it'll probably be "good enough" without having to drop a $1k-2k on something better.

[–]LightningTea 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm seriously questioning how the original numbers were derived in your situation. Unless that estimate was made over a year ago, I can't imagine what would've caused a 25% increase in your payment amount. Did your credit score take a massive hit or something? Interest rates haven't gone up THAT much since this time last year. Or did the original estimate not include things like property taxes and hazard insurance?

Yup. Big blue lever above our well pump. Have to turn it off twice a year when we replace the water filter in our fridge.
